Berlin, Berlin is a German comedy about Lolle Holzmann. She follows her love Tom after the graduation from the small village Malente to the German capital Berlin. When she arrives there, she soon needs to find out that Tom has already another girlfriend. Lolle decides to move in with her cousin Sven, who lives together with the lesbian Rosalie. She also becomes friends with Sven's best friend Hart.

Lolle finds her passion in drawing and tries to make money with it. She also becomes a very complicated love life, which includes her cousin Sven. In the beginning of the second season, Lolle needs to deal with the departure of her best friend Rosalie. She left town to begin a new life in the United States and gave her room to the bisexual Sarah Hermann.

The special about the show is, that the story of an episode is most breaking off by a comic figure, who looks like Lolle. The figure doesn't speak, but she shows Lolle's current feelings with actions.
