Big Brother: The Boss

This version of “Big Brother” that was titled “Big Brother: The Boss” and sometimes called “Big Brother Arabia” was broadcast live nightly on MBC2 from Saudi Arabia. This show had contestants and was seen in the following countries, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria and Tunisia. The show began airing on 21 February 2004 but because of very low ratings in all the countries and also because of a major controversy the show was cancelled after only 11 consecutive days. The “Big Brother” house was located in the Amwaj Islands in Bahrain. The controversy involved the mixing of women and men in the same house together even though they lived in separate sections of the house. There were separate bedrooms, separate bathrooms and separate prayer rooms and the 2 groups only saw each other in the kitchen an outside in the yard area. This was the shortest length of time for any “Big Brother” competition ever as well as having no winner and no evictions.
