Britain's Poshest Nannies focuses around Norland college, a 120 year old British childcare training college in Bath. The elite college turns it students into modern Mary Poppins-style nannies.
The documentary will follow the second years of Set 36, offering a view of how the students embrace the Norland tradition and training. Will the students successfully finish the £13,000 per-year course? If so, their experience at Norland would offer them a life time of employment prospects.
As the students undertake their academic lessons at Norland, the girls' training would include cooking, sewing, as well as undertaking the task of how to keep a baby happy. The focus would be on the reality of how exhausting childcare would be for the students. The students would be expected to use virtual babies, which are programmed to stimulate cries. Over the 48 hours, the girls are expected to be able to keep the baby happy, clean and fed. The data is downloaded from the babies, the girls are then assessed on their ability.
The girls are expected to undertake sewing quillows (a quilt that folds into a pillow), and learning to fix up a Silver Cross pram. As well as becoming an exceptionally advanced driver, including learning how to drive away from the chase of paparazzi.
All of Norland's students come from all walks of life, the one thing these students of Set 36 have in common is their proud parents. The parents believe whoever their daughter ends up with would be very lucky.
With the girls first work placements a week away, this group of future Mary Poppin's-style nannies have a chance to be able to enjoy themselves before deciding what kind of family they wish to work for as Norland sends this new set of nannies into the real world of employment.
There is no Next Episode of Britain's Poshest Nannies planned.
