The "Copa América" ("America Cup"), formerly known as the "Campeonato Sud Americano de Football" ("South American Football Championship"), is an international football competition played between the men's national football teams of CONMEBOL, determining the continental champion of South America.
The first continental championship was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from July 2 to July 17 in 1916.
