A brief detective series centered around a police lieutenant. Skip Homeier plays Dan Raven, a detective of the Los Angeles sheriff's office assigned to the clubs and bars along the Sunset Strip between Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Skip Homeier stars in the title role of "Dan Raven," full-hour mystery series dealing with Hollywood's famed Sunset Strip. Raven, a detective lieutenant attached to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Office, covers the jumble of supperclubs, coffee houses and jazz spots along "The Strip" which constitutes his beat. Featured regularly in the series are Dan Barton who portrays Detective Sgt. Burke, Dan Raven's sidekick, and Quinn Redeker playing Perry Levitt, a national magazine photographer covering Hollywond. Stories revolve around popular showbusiness personalities appearing in the various supperclubs, including Bobby Darin, Buddy Hackett, Paul Anka and Gogi Grant. Some entertainers play themselves, others portray fictional characters, yet each are involved dramatically, in the stories. Asa Maynor, as Miss Beverly Hills, a nightclub dancer, is seen in several episodes. The series was filmed inside and outside the various Sunset Strip establishments for authenticity.
