Ghost Ships

Professional salvage diver Tony Sampson and his team brave the shifting currents and bone-chilling legends of Nova Scotia in search of wreckage. Here, they turn their attentions to the Ghost Ship of Northumberland Strait, a ghost ship said to sail ablaze within the body of water that separates Prince Edward Island from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in eastern Canada.

When the SS Mont-Blanc and the SS Imo collided in 1917 in the harbour of Halifax, Canada, the subsequent explosion killed or injured almost 11,000 people.

For decades, residents in Nova Scotia have reported munitions washing up on their shores - believed to have come from the wreck of the SS Clare Lilley.
