Gold Rush follows six men who, in the face of an economic meltdown, risk everything - their families, their dignity, and in some cases, their lives - to strike it rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska. Inspired by his father Jack, Todd Hoffman of Sandy, Oregon, leads a group of greenhorn miners to forge a new frontier and save their families from dire straits. While leasing a gold claim in Alaska, Todd and his company of newbies face the grandeur of Alaska as well as its hardships, including an impending winter that will halt operations and the opportunity to strike gold. In an effort to keep the operation running, the team takes fate into their own hands with a make or break venture that will change their lives forever.
Parker chases a record-breaking 10,000-ounce season. Rick pursues his dream of buying his own claim. The fate of the Beets family dynasty shifts when the eldest son, Kevin, strikes out on his own.
Rick Ness considers whether to keep mining after devastating news. Parker's crew split an excavator in half attempting a risky fix. Kevin Beets turns to one of dad Tony's rivals for help.
Rick sinks an excavator trying to get down to Rally Valley pay. Parker's crew risks destroying a million-dollar wash plant to get on the gold. Tony puts pressure on Cousin Mike to perform on the Indian River.
Parker unexpectedly loses the pay layer in the long cut. Tony Beets tasks the Mikes with ramping up his operation in the Indian River. Kevin struggles to keep his equipment running.
Parker makes a big call on Dominion Creek's ice-filled ground. Rick buys a new pump to fire up Monster Red. Kevin's cut floods, sending him scrambling to find a critical piece of equipment.
Rick risks flooding Rally Valley to haul in big gold nuggets. Tony's protégé, Cousin Mike, attempts a risky plant move. Kevin's biggest machine goes down while another lights on fire.
