Graines de star

“Graines de star” is France’s version of the since cancelled U.S. series “Star Search” that aired on “CBS” TV. Some of the differences are that France’s version airs every weekday and their age limit restriction is a little different. For the “Singing” category their age limit is 12 to 17 years old and for the “Dancing” category it’s’ 10 to 14 years old. They also have 3 categories that may seem strange to viewers from other countries. They have a “Mannequin” category for ages 12 to 17, an “Imitator” category for ages 12 to 17 and a “Hidden Talent” category ages 10 to 17. The “Hidden Talent” category is for acrobats, jugglers, anyone who plays any type of instrument and ballerina’s. Two former contestants on this series “Cecilia Cara” and “Eve Angeli” have gone on to become very good, popular Actresses. They have also had two young ladies by the name of “Alizee” and “Jenifer Bartoli” both go on to be Actresses and very popular Singers. This series began on 2 February 1996 and 10 years later is still going strong. The English translation of this French series is "Seeds of Star".
