Next Episode of Old Home Love is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
Andy and Candis Meredith specialize in restoring old (19th century) homes and parenting their seven boys. Based in Utah, the couple has created a business called Old Home Love, which combines their passion for old homes with their incredible ability to renovate these historic properties.
Candis and Andy start the restoration of their 1890 house by restoring the kitchen, butler's pantry and the exterior. The kitchen and butler's pantry were last renovated in the 1960s, and it shows. Candis and Andy plan to bring the two spaces back to how they would have looked at the turn of the century with custom cabinetry to the ceiling, stone countertops and hardwood floors. The exterior of the house has deteriorated over time, and after doing some research to figure out how it would have looked in 1890, they give it a complete Victorian-inspired paint job and build replica railings for the porch.
Candis and Andy finish off the first floor of their 1890 house by creating a new master suite and restoring the living and dining rooms. The existing master bedroom looks like a tacky Vegas casino, and it doesn't have a bathroom attached. So they decide to transform the adjacent sunroom into a master bath with plenty of historic touches, including a refurbished clawfoot tub and an antique dry sink as the vanity. They also restore the historic fireplace in the living room, get the original pocket doors sliding again, and do a cosmetic upgrade to the outdated dining room.
Candis and Andy move on to the second floor of their 1890 house, adding a home office, restoring the guest bathroom and bedroom, and adding a secret playroom. In the home office, they open up the ceiling to expose the original vault, and restore the built-in storage cubbies. The guest bath gets a Victorian remodel as they uncover the original claw foot tub that's been hidden under a laminate surround for decades. They also turn one of the bedrooms into a kid-themed room complete with a hidden door leading to a secret playroom.
Candis and Andy finish the work on their 1890 house by adding a family room on the second floor, restoring the turret, adding a guest room and library, and restoring the vestibule and original front door. The family room includes built-in day beds and in the attached turret, they expose the original vaulted ceiling. The guest room and connected library become a Victorian-inspired retreat, and the amazing front door gets restored with a custom-made stained glass window. The hope is to finish all the work before Candis gives birth to their first baby girl, due in just a couple weeks!
