Soompi Gayo Awards

Soompi was founded in 1998 by Korean American web developer Susan Kang. They are the largest international community for K-pop Music on the Internet and they provide sections of their site for English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Thai speaking visitors. The majority of its members are non-Koreans in the U.S., Canada, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia, among others. Some 6 million people log on to the site every month and about 40% of its traffic originates from North America. The "Soompi Gayo Awards" is an annual awards show held in Seoul, South Korea. Awards are presented for Top Singer, Top Song, Top Album, Top Female Group, Top Male Group, Top Drama / Movie OST Song, Top Mixed Group or Male-Female Collaborations, Top Digital Single, Top New Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Male Artist.
