An African version of the interational reality phenomenon Survivor was announced by pay-channel M-Net on 20 April, 2006 - the week following their announcement of Survivor South Africa.

Survivor Africa, was the first pan-regional season of the popular tv show Survivor to air in central or southern Africa and it included contestants from the countries of Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. (Source: M-Net)
