Next Episode of The Pengest Munch is
unknown.
The Chicken Connoisseur is a food critic for the mandem and a crep fiend. Join his excursions as he reviews the finest/medi/deadest chicken shops in the land.
I ventured into the depths of the pretty part of Hackney to visit one monobrowed bossman and began my quest of the pengest food the ends have to offer.
This week I hit up Eden's Cottage in Finsbury Park. Word in the ends is, they got the livest deals for the cheapest prices. If you like what you pree subscribe and share. Then head over there!
This time around we headed over to Tufnell Park to hit up Dixy. #DeadTing. I need say no more.
We went down to Waterloo to check Dallas, around the corner from the station. Being a local hotspot for tourists, is it worth the P, or is it a bump for no reason? Comment, subscribe and share for more chicken shop fine dining. Safe.
Apologies for the delay my loyal peopledem. Got lost in the sauce for 9 months, but we're here now baby! This visit was tense; bare hype in the shop, but everything was dead as you can see. Chicken Valley? Not the one. I've called immigration to disrupt bossman's business for the sheggry he bestowed upon me. #DontJudgeMe
The Hotspurs aren't the only mediocre disappointment in Tottenham. The highly spoken of Chick King really wasn't saying much. Been gassed up for years so my expectations were high and the delivery was lacking all kinds of flavour. Stay tuned for more Chicken related activity.
Man finally linked the highly acclaimed Sam's, their store presentation is certi; they actually have uniform and not bossmen rolling to different shops for a plain red polo, so they go in on that. There was no indication that Bossman knew what was gwarnin, but everyone I rolled with got 2 extra wings don't expect that to be standard haha. If you're from South, next week's ting should be lively; it's not bait, but you'll appreciate it. Stay locked.
Man finally went Southside of that river! But it weren't Morley's yet . I'd like to formally apologize for not cleaning the flesh off the bone, but they were looking too reckless to even attempt. I'm not looking to get bodied for a review; that being said, I rated it on its pengness (assuming it was fully cooked). But I've said enough! Enjoy the ting and stay locked in for new tings dropping soonish.
Went Southside of that river once again! This time I bucked up with Bonkaz who showed me the ropes handling authentic Morley's chicken correctly. Then he dropped that spicy freestyle! Mud. Shout out to Bonkaz and his mandem!
This week was peak! Bossman tried to bless the ting to no avail. #DeadFood The meal was a myth. Regardless of price, the grub shouldn't be tasting synthetic like the food was farmed in a council estate. Ith all mad.
Chicken Valley! We meet again and you're still parring my life! Sheggry from all angles!!! Nugget in a bun volume 2. Violation. I'm done.
Found a lowkey spot tucked away in the nether-realms of Walthamstow. Not really, but it's lowkey still. If you're from these sides roll tru, the chicken got textures and succulence for days!!!
Obviously this week's ting is a Valentine's special, so as fate would have it, I managed to link up with the Chicken Shop Date and got a legit free meal On a level this spot got banging chips, but the chicken's a bit leave it, so I can't fully recommend the ting. But that's the ting init!
Yo! Apologies to the loyal peopledem for taking long to drop this. Editor had bare footage to run through, but the ting's here now! So man like A$AP Bari hooked man up with the Vlone tings (pree ebay, it's kinda peak for wallets) and took us to 3 different places. Texas in Harlem, Kennedy Chicken in The Bronx and Crown Fried Chicken in Brooklyn. Mud ting.
Been a while since we last uploaded, but the ting's here now init, weep not. Soggy bread killed the meal, ain't got much else to say than that really.
Boom! Man rolled Hounslow this week to check Aladdin's; guys have been talking for time and it didn't live up to the hype as far as the food being peng is concerned. Quantity over quality is how they run tings here. Don't believe the hype you hear about taste, it's slightly beyond average. My apologies for the over-rating, I was waved off bare wings and ginger beer.
The second seasoning returns and I though since it was Black History Month, that I make a swift trip to Africa to see what it's saying. Morocco was calm aside from everyone tryna bump you on the prices for everything, including that mad loose Moroccan hoodie. P.S. It was way too hot to back a shirt and tie.
Here's a Christmas Spesh dropping on boxing day because of my dead WiFi and large file size. *Acapella* is a one take unedited vid and there will be more of them on the way, until the selected camera dons get activated. Merry Boxing Day.
Linked Lord Capo in Palmers Green to check Pepe's. It was fairly casj, apart from the loose lash and bookey extend clip attached to that 1 wing. 'Twas butters.
Been so long looking for a videographer who can bang job. Resorted to hollaring Big Zuu as I bucked him in his ends for 1 2 wings. The grub was meh, but since he found a guy to do more, I'm back in the office and will be able to film more regularly. Safe.
Today issa Penge ting, man's looking to back a peng wing. *Ghost-writing services are available, I accept Ethereum, Bitcoin and Cedi's.* 'Twas a calm meal still, but I've never seen a Bossman so off job it was woeful. I'd prefer to have Boss doing no favours and working, than gassing me with a freebie wing only to abandon the work station and turn me into a monument on a Tourist route.
Got a new videographical don and bucked my guy to check another Morley's around his sides. The heat kinda drained my brain still, so excuse the uncomprehensiveness, but the place was pretty casj, one thing I forgot to mention was that their clapped strip burger isn't even sold on it's own, you are forced to buy 2, since they know you probably aren't coming back for another after the first one. If it's not wings or chips, ignore this one when you walk by. Tell a lie, they got slushies in there as well, so if the sun's about, that's a motive.
So basically I wanted to drop a Halloween special, so I slapped on a quick costume and reached a spot around King's Cross. The bossman who served me was bless, but the others were vexed after although I didn't even par the shop. Oh yh, forgive the dead tune in the background, I sense an impending copyright strike by WMG still.
Been time since the last one dropped, but this was filmed in January, so memories of the day are kinda hazy. But the plan was to just touch a borough in the nether regions of London that I'd never get around to, and I just typed chicken in a map and ended up rolling here. Got attacked by an untamed hound, so that was a new experience also. My shirt was looking mad creased as well, didn't realize it looked that unemployed, but I'll iron it next time. As for next time, I dunno when exactly that'll be, but I think I'll have to start a BTEC series that could be more regular, even with even more limited resources. Until then, goodnight and support your local essential bossman, as long as he's not extorting the mandem with flagrant prices.
What's good people? I'm backish after a long hiatus again. I found a certi videographer in that time, so we clocked in at the office. The 5 year anniversary of the channel is coming up, so there'll be some ancient footage coming out the archives for that and a couple other ideas for the next few months, so expect more signs of life from me sooner than the next 6 months. That's it for now, safe.
What's good peeps? As you can see, I'm back 3 months sooner than expected. I think fortnightly is pretty doable thanks to VP (a certified marksman). The next episode should be a special one for the channel on the 15th, but I haven't decided what that'll look like exactly. But yh, I went to this spot in one of London's nether regions on my quest to tick off its boroughs. My headtop is looking brazy, I don't even know what happened to me. No lie, that 4.6 for the chips was slyly an underrating, it's a 4.7 still, because I can't honestly say I've had piffer naked chips and I dunno what could be done to level it up... unless it was fried in chicken grease with the same texture. But extensive chat aside, these chips were levels so I just had to double down. Anywho, stay tuned, I'm back in the office.
What's good people? Once again, back in the Nether regions of London. I heard there were deer in Richmond park, and although we saw a couple bait ones on the frontlines, we went deeper into the jungle and there was nothing there, so in the middle of the bush we just did the review and I had to save a spare wing because they were leng. It's kinda jokes how everything that slaps, my brain instinctively is drawn to a 4.6. I'm gonna try consciously veer away from that in future. But yh this place was calm, large up the builders and supporters I saw there. Since it's Black History Month, the next couple episodes are gonna be kinda different. Stay tuned. Safe.
This week was a bit of a special as I got invited to Tooting for a collab, which I'm not at liberty to discuss and that VP was not at liberty to include behind the scenes shots of. So all the context we're obliged to provide is what you see. As for the food, you can see it was kinda peak, but a saving grace for the wings is that they'd at least be 1 full point higher if the temperature was adequately heated, so feel free to give them a chance on that.
Yo what's good my peoples? Due to some technical difficulties, the sound quality got butchered, but this is the best that could've been salvaged. Besides that, I was out in Kilburn with the certified shellsmith PK, or a mostly certified meal.
This week I went East for my wing excursion and it was not worth the bop. It was a case of catfish; the exterior decor lures you in, then the interior decor continues to gas you, then you cop a meal and realize expeditiously it was all a facade. It's a very nice facade though, great to look at and shoot in, but food is the last thing people should be rolling here for.
So this time I passed through a very familiar shop I've seen over the years, but sometimes my curiosity ought not to be explored publicly. Mediocre epitomises its calibre. Obviously I forgot to slap burger sauce on the burger again, but that cheat code wouldn't have made a real difference, it was clearly unseasoned. Next episode should be a young Christmas spesh, so stay tuned.
Today, I initially wanted to touch the SouthBank Christmas market for my festival culinary excursion, but I heard it was locked off, so I settled for Borough. Settling is rarely a good idea. Here's what I ended up backing instead. Next episode should be a legit special, because this one clearly wasn't too special.
What's good peoples? This time I passed through Essex Road to link a very familiar shop, I've never been to. It was not what I expected, in a bless way. There was nowhere to sit down, so I had to stand up on some concrete seat to eat, and I actually had to move to the next seat 2 metres to the left, because there was a whole gang of pigeons lined up ready to shoot from the hip (backwards) precarious settings.
This time I rolled through Stokey to check this recently refurbished spot with Jammz, barsmith and tekkful grime producer. I think it used to be a Kennedy Fried Chicken or something- I recall rolling there off duty in 2018 and it was fairly mediocre, but they done fixed up proper. The shop's looking in good shape and the food's doing bits for the most part.
This time we went to Aldgate for my weekly wing excursion. The price was a madness when I deep it, bossman was definitely flexing the postcode with that. Oh yh, the onion rings that came with the burger are not the one. The nauseating oil I could taste and lack of adequate seasoning incapacitated my ability to articulate a review, so I had to drown out my taste buds with chips so pardon my silence on that. But h'enjoy the rest.
So this week, we went Baker's Arms, a lil pocket in Walthamstow to Western Fried Chicken and linked up with Faze Miyake. It might seem like a liberal level of gas but everything slapped. The mic dropped out during the review and I forgot to mention it again, but look at the wings... HASTOUNDING textures! If you're passing by, it's worth passing through, truss me.
What's good peoples? Another episode here and a big upset. I was gassed for the price and I heard the food was fire but reality struck different. I dunno how bossman can switch up within the space of 20 minutes like that, but he done me dirty. Especially with the sauce on top.
For this Chinese New Year spesh, I came to Chinatown and got slyly experimental with the cuisine. It was kinda casj overall, but there was 1 crucial component missing.
So this week's one was down Green Lanes in Harringay and was pretty bless overall, but I can't tell if bossman did me a favour or if he lowkey owes me some change. Either way, I think I found a cheat code that I might be tempted to use off duty in future. Quality stuff
So this one I got recommend while I was shooting the episode at Mississippi by Essex Road- large up the mandem Ben & Asif. They said it was levels, so we came through to see if their verdict was certi.
So this week, I got shegged by one outdated digital map, claiming there was a wing spot open, it was a myth, so I thought going to a chippy was a good idea... sometimes my intuition does me no favours and this was one of those times.
So this week we went to the closest chicken shop to the home of the Gunners, just to see what the players might be putting on a fake 'tache and shades to back locally in celebration of a home victory.
So this time I passed through Euston for this backroad spot. It was interesting, particularly with the fillets. VP got the fillet burger after me and had a completely different verdict to mine, but considering my ting got hit with the mayo heavy-handedly, I think the fillet's flavour got pacified. It was my fault for the lapse in judgement forgetting the burger/BBQ sauce combo, and I'll hold my hands up slyly for that, but the bossman was a YG as well (plus his informant from down the road told him I was on my way), so he should have known better really.
So this one was a sly spesh in honour of the Waffle Day, which originated in Sweden and is celebrated on the 25th, but I thought I'd drop it as regularly scheduled. Funnily enough, this is also Air Max Day (26th) so happy Air Max Day peoplesdem, celebrate by stepping out in your finest crep with visible air units.
Outchea in Hoxton for today's wing excursion, as recommended by my guy Sir Hoangson. 'Twas a rather casj meal, and particularly nice to just eat off a table, I slyly can't recall the last time I did still.
What's good peoples? I'm back in East, this time getting catfished again on the maps, since "Famous Chicken & Pizza" is its digital identity, but in real life it's Pasha's Peri-Peri. Either way, Pasha did decent enough with the place for it to warrant a good bit of fame.
What's good peoples? This time we checked Hornsey and on the maps I could see there was a school close by, so I had high hopes assuming bossman may have fine tuned his goods for his clientele over the years and it seems as though he may well have. This week I got a kids meal as well.
P.S. As we're approaching the last days of this seasoning, be prepared to run back episodes from the beginning because I'm gonna have to ghost for a strong minute, but safe for watching people's. Good day.
Today we're in Clapton at a bit of a hotspot, the roundabout is generally busy, but with the college adjacent, I was lucky to dodge the human traffic I'm sure this place would have had. After swinging by years ago off duty, I thought it'd be a good shout to pass through on duty and at times the wings were mesmerising.
Today we cut through West Green road by Seven Sisters to buck Chicken Excel and assess their excellence. RIP to the fallen wing, it's the first time I've dropped one this whole show and the flashbacks are still haunting.
So for this, the Seasoning finalé, I came back to the sides it all started in. I'm not sure when exactly TPM will be back, but in due time Foodie Fridays will return. In the meantime, enjoy the old episodes and there'll be new content on the way soonish. Good day.
Flew down to South London to check out this new breed of rebore shop. It wasn't as dead as the name lead me to believe.
So this week was an impromptu trip to the infamous East London chicken strip, to check out KHF, since I've had the most requests for it over the years. Bossman was bless and gave me bare extra wings and an extra fillet in the burger, but it was no saving grace.
Just needed to check somewhere in the borough of Wandsworth, so decided to see what was gwarnin here and it was partially decent. Prices aren't too shabby in hindsight. Bless.
So this week I went again to the nether regions of the city and checked out this medi-looking shop. 'Twas quite the memorable occasion.
Swang back over the border to check this place out that alleges it has tasty chicken and as the judge of all things poultry, I can both confirm and deny that claim.
So I was scouring the maps to try tick off some other borough's and clocked the Kensington & Chelsea had nothing, besides this with a toenail on the line. It was as I expected from the chain to be real.
If you spotted me in North Weezy and wondered what I was doing 'roundere, I was just checking what the volume of the flavoursdem were saying, and there was quite the conversation to be had.
In this week's wing excursion, we're back in the netherlands of the city, but on the east this time, passing through the reputably unpredictable chain that is Favourite.
We were back out quay west to check what this random spot was saying. The storefront didn't look too spectacular on maps, but we came to see what the food was saying nevertheless.
This week we ventured back into South Weezy to pree what some southern fried chicken was saying and today, it was not the one.
What's goodie? We flew West this week to see what the much requested Rio was actually saying, and the forecast wasn't far off from the experience.
So boom, back out in the East for my weekly wing excursion, this time assessing if Best Bite had the best bite and it didn't unsurprisingly enough, but were interesting bites indeed.
So this episode closes the chapter of wing excursions in the city as I've gone to every borough, I think. Next time you see me I will have done flewed out the ends for some semi-foreign spices. In the meantime, h'enjoy the previous episodes.
What's goodie? I'm back for some looseys before I get into the next seasoning of episodes. H'enjoy and goodnight.
What's good peoples? Just took a light flight down into South again to check what this place was saying because I had a few referrals on it, 'twas an interesting wing excursion nevertheless. Good day.
Yo peoples, apologies for the delays, but h'enjoy this week's episode, been a glorious week. Good day.
Yo peoples, this week I ventured to a land beyond the South (allegedly still in London), to see if this Morley's was patterned correctly and it might simultaneously be the best and worst meal combo I've had thus far.
Yo peoples, yet another glorious Sunday in North London, h'enjoy the sly origin story episode.
Might be a bit anti-climatic since it's been held for so long, but it is what it is, we move.
Yo apologies for the delay peoples, but back to the regularly scheduled programming. H'enjoy
What's good people, this one was long overdue and actually filmed a couple times since it opened. I eventually got 'round to getting the flight back down to Croydon to get this one done. H'enjoy
What's goodie? Slight hiccup in the day's proceedings with Cluckers locked off despite alleging it's open on maps, but maybe it was for the best because this is shop was at least open when it declared to be.
What's good peoples? This week's wing excursion was a trek out West for a highly recommended spot that wasn't quite in my plans, but came through as a fairly decent shop.
Yo what's good peoples? Apologies for the delayed drop, there was some editorial issues, but the episode will drop tomorrow. Tune in then, safe.
Apologies for the day late drop, there were some unexpected editorial delays, but I'll be punctual this week, hopefully. Nevertheless h'enjoy the review.
Yo people, just delivering on the foretold episode of this week, there were no benches, so I had to sit in the spinning thing, but merry Sunday and be h'enjoying.
Yo peoples, back up North this week for this lil spot. Bossman was slyly a bit of a pagan with the service, but fresh chips might be a saving grace. Next week's episode will be back on Friday. Good day.
Yo peoples, this is a bit of a rejig in the regular scheduling to revert back to the original foodie Friday settings. This week, we were with the WaveySpaces Don Dada in his local spot to reassess if it has improved since his childhood attendances.
Yo peoples, this week we went to the closest chicken shop to the City of London borough, which is just across the road from it. The prices were kinda mad, but you don't just pay for the food, you pay for the postcode. Safe.
This week we flew back North Westish to see if anything has kinda switched up since I was here. It hasn't much.
Yo peoples, this is the last episode of the seasoning for a few reasons, I've got a few things to sort out, but I'll be back soonish. Thanks for tuning in this seasoning and give thanks.
Yo people I'm back again, once again with Flashy to see what this local spot is saying. The ends haven't been showing out recently.
Yo my peoples, ain't touched a Dixy in a minute, so decided to pass through for this week's wing excursion to see what this eastside franchise is saying.
What's good people? This week's wing excursion is an interesting one. I got drawn out by a shop who's marketing strategy was plagiarism/copyright infringement so I passed through to see if it was all a trick or a treat.
Yo peoples, this week's wing excursion takes us back over to North to see what this (much requested) spot was saying. The mandem weren't lying.
Whagwarn peoples, this week I took my talents back to the home of the country's finest talent, to see what the grub was saying. I was joined at the Armoury by a fellow brother in arms to discern if we had found the Pengest Munch.
Yo peoples, took my talents over to Angel to see if this spot I frequently fly by was worth stopping off at. It was not.
Yo peoples, this week's wing excursion took us to East London once again. It was a weird and inconsistent one, but the food ain't quite trash.
Yo peoples, my sincerest apologies for the delays on Fridays episode, will have the bonus Christmas special drop on Wednesday hopefully at 5ish, then you'll get another episode on Friday. Separately, I took my own advice and skated down to Archway, as directed in episode 3, and it was a miiisteak. Don't do it, wharrever you do, jas don't do it.
Yo peoples, this week's wing excursion takes us down South. Kennington where it started, or Vauxhall where Bossman ought to have been put to a halt, it's not my place to say. But what is my place to say, is that you don't need this experience.
Yo people, apologies for the delays again. This week's wing excursion was a different experience, definitely as good as it looked.
Yo peoples, apologies for the delay in getting this done, it's my first edit, allow me. I'll have an alternative patterned in future for times like this.
Yo people, this week's episode was down in Clapton again for a newlyish opened shop, which wasn't too shabby.
Yo people, got a lil bonus for you today which was meant to be for pancake Day. These gentrified spots got their pro's and cons, but overall, support your local bossman.
Back again for this week's 2nd wing excursion. Bank balance got duppied ag️ain ... it must be done, but I can't be living like this.
For this week's episode before the big 100, I had to check out this gentrified spot called Chicken Shop to see how it compared to bossman. The shop was live, but the food was quiet, except the chips.
This week's episode is slyly a month old, but some of you dons were calling for me to roll here anyway. Furthermore, I'll drop a vid probably tomorrow explaining where episode 100 is, so stay locked in.
Yo peopledem, this week's wing excursion was a fair bit more promising than the past few were. They might be the pengest gentrified spot thus far. It's not all the way peng though still.
Yo apologies for the delays people, but this week's wing excursion is the penultimate outing in the gentrification tour.
Yo people, this is effectively the end of my gentrification tour, the last one should be interesting, but for now, h'enjoy what the Wingman's had to offer.
Yo peopledem, this is definitely the penultimate gentrification tour episode, I'm missing the simplicity of bopping through the door and leaving with food in 5 minutes for less than a 5er.
Yo peopledem, this one's been parked off for a minute since I demonetized my channel by accident but you've been patient, so h'enjoy the freebie Inabit.
My peopledem, I'm back in the ends this week in the presence of a certified bossman and he served up the ends special.
Reporting for Halloween duty.
I'm alive and well. Pardon the reckless headtop, it'll be on point when you see me next. Safe.
Opp block touring in Chelsea ahead of Arsenal going there to conquer West London in the derby... again. #CoyG
