A 50-year-old woman is rushed to A&E having collapsed at work following a thunderclap headache, leaving doctors concerned that she may have a bleed on her brain. Her husband shares the story of how they met and the challenges they have had to overcome. Other patients include a 13-year-old boy hit by a car while riding his bike and a woman concerned by a headache, who describes her childhood spent in Zambia and Lancashire.
A patient with a rare condition is rushed in to St George's in south west London, struggling to breathe. Her husband tells the story of their child's struggle with leukemia. A woman with a history of emphysema comes to St George's after complaining to her GP of chest pains, and a 19-year-old medical student has an abnormal growth on her femur.
Anthony is rushed to resus after coming off his motor scooter on his 18th birthday. Doctors are concerned that he has internal bleeding. Sixteen-year-old Jack is urgently transferred from another hospital with multiple fractures and nerve damage in his arm after he fell off his electric scooter. After twisting his ankle at school, 13-year-old Josh has been brought to the emergency department by his father, Sanjay, who explains how he left India for the UK to pursue a career as a chef.
