When artist Juan Salazar originally inquired about renting a studio space at a nearby toy store, he never imagined he'd end up owning the place. After a chance opportunity, that's just what happened, and Super Happy Incredible Toys was born!
Portland's Mark Pederson has always been a monster kid at heart, so it's no surprise his store's name is an homage to a horror-themed SCTV sketch. Inspired by the model and toy magazines he loved reading; Mark realized there was an opportunity to make a living selling vintage toys.
Toy de Jour owners Sam Wells and Liz McArthur's irreverent sense of humor is reflected in their store slogan, "Vintage toys, arts and farts" as well as their whole business model! In addition to an incredible array of vintage toys, Toy de Jour showcases independent custom toy-artists, toy-themed art shows and more!
Starting out as a consignment shop, Toys From the Past has since expanded to multiple locations throughout Lincoln Nebraska. Influenced by their toy-collecting father, Mike and Dan Bretta have amassed not only a larger-than-life toy operation complete with multiple dioramas and a giant-sized AT-AT Walker, but a top-notch staff of toy experts and enthusiasts!
Nashville Tennessee is known for a dazzling array of sights and sounds, and thanks to LJ Landrum and Mathew Powell, vintage toys as well! Their store, Totally Rad Toyhouse, is a must-stop spot for out of state toy-hunters and locals alike. LJ and Mathew have a passion for helping people find their childhood, one happy customer at a time.
