not planed. TV Show was canceled.
Actor Adrian Dunbar reconnects with his roots as he travels around the wild and rugged Irish coast.
In the first of two programmes he visits the astonishing Mizen bridge, suspended 45 metres above sea level, and heads to Co Cork, where old friend Darina Allen makes him lunch at Ballymaloe House. He also fulfils a lifelong ambition to make the treacherous sea crossing to Skellig Islands, where the ruins of an ancient monastic settlement are perched 600 feet above sea.
The actor continues his journey around the rugged Irish coast. Adrian learns about the history of Malin Head, the northernmost tip of mainland Ireland, from where Marconi sent the first ever commercial message to a ship by wireless in 1902. He also meets motorcycle champion Michael Dunlop, who has won the Isle of Man TT 19 times, before visits to the remote fishing village Carrick-a-rede and the Giant's Causeway. He ends his journey in the Mourne Mountains in Rostrevor, which are said to have inspired Belfast-born CS Lewis to create the magical land of Narnia.
Adrian Dunbar explores some of his favourite places in his homeland of Ireland, sharing his passion for the country's food, history, and scenery. In the first episode, Adrian's journey starts at a place that holds many memories for him, the highest accessible Seacliff's in the whole of Europe - Slieve league on the Wild Atlantic way in Co Donegal. Later, he makes it to his hometown of Fermanagh, where he visits a 6th century island monastery, only accessibly by boat.
The host explores Ireland's Ancient East. Starting in Boyne Valley, Adrian delves into the area's 5,000 year-long history, before meeting chef Richard Corrigan at Virginia Park Lodge, the 18th century estate set amidst 100 acres of stunning grounds. Next, he heads to Howth to meet artist Jim Fitzpatrick, and later boards the Dart train for a picturesque journey around the captivating coast, before hopping on a bike to cycle across the impressive Kilmacthomas Viaduct.
