Former investigator Sven Hjerson has solved some of the toughest cases in Swedish crime history. Now retired from the limelight, living on the fringes of society, his life mainly consists of daily routines, a vegan diet, vinyl record collecting and an unhealthy appetite for gossip.Klara Sandberg is a reality TV producer living with her partner Niklas and their daughter Olivia. Her career has stagnated and she is looking for something new – is this really all that life has to offer? When she manages to successfully pitch the idea for a new TV show starring Hjerson, it could just be the solution to all of her problems. There's just one snag – she's never actually met Sven Hjerson...
The famous murder investigator Sven Hjerson is on his way on the ferry to his hometown on Åland when a journalist is found murdered in his cabin. Hjerson takes on the case, closely followed by the stubborn TV producer Klara Sandberg whom he has just met.
After Magnus is found dead, Hjerson and Klara have to rethink. At the same time, the suspicions against the others deepen. The ferry will soon arrive in Mariehamn and time to find the culprit is running out.
Oscar finds an injured man, who is dressed as a chicken, on a snow-covered beach. The man is gone when Oscar returns after calling for help.
Hjerson gets shot at, as he is on his way to a winter swim at the local beach.
Murders happen according to the books of a crime writer.
The number of suspects is further limited when it turns out that the second murder also has connections to the book. Hidden motifs come to the surface and the noose is tightened, but the killer always seems to be one step ahead.
A famous actor is shot with real bullets during a filming on Åland and dies.
When a person is caught again trying to poison someone in the film team, the Åland Police believe that the case has been solved, but Hjerson is not satisfied.
