Six discordant participants are put through their paces as their voices are transformed from screeching in the shower to singing like a soprano, proving that all of us can hold a tune. The English National Opera's world-class vocal coaches - Nicky Spence, Sarah Pring and Michael Harper - will mentor the would-be singers throughout the process, giving masterclasses on everything from vocal technique to stage presence and setting them a series of musical challenges with the help of singing superstars such as Katherine Jenkins to take their singing to the next level – all in the space of three months.
Faced with Participants who simply cannot sing, the ENO's world-class voice coaches set out on a journey of vocal transformation and narrow the group down to six.
The chosen six are faced with the daunting challenge of singing in front of one each other. Coaches Nicky, Sarah and Michael prepare them with one-to-one tutorials.
The singers prepare to perform in public for the first time, singing to 60,000 people at an NFL match at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, with Katherine Jenkins offering advice.
The six participants perform music from Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera HMS Pinafore at the London Coliseum, complete with full chorus and the ENO orchestra.
