Meeting allies along the way who share similar fates, Usagi and her team of planetary Sailor Guardians fight to protect the universe from forces of evil and total annihilation.
A new enemy called the Death Busters appears, an organization whose members aim to get their hands on the talismans that can only be found in pure-hearted humans. If they succeed, they will be able to obtain the Holy Grail and use it to take over the entire world.
The Silver Crystal loses its shine—and that means Usagi cannot transform. Mamoru tries to cheer Usagi up by taking her to an area in town that has become the home of a bunch of stray cats.
Usagi and Minako sneak off to the arcade to take a break from their life of studying. While enjoying the latest racing game, the girls are approached by a handsome student named Haruka Tenoh, who wishes to join them for a friendly match.
Usagi asks her friends to help her become a better person worthy of being Mamoru's bride. But to her disappointment, the girls do not take her seriously. Feeling rejected, Usagi is heading home when she spots Michiru gracefully playing the violin and wishes she could be just like her.
Motoki's little sister Unazuki is a pure-hearted girl who dreams of sharing her first kiss with the person she truly loves. But when her pure heart is stolen by a Daimon, Unazuki's dream turns into a nightmare as she starts to try to kiss anyone in sight.
A small misunderstanding causes Umino and Naru to believe that the other is no longer interested in them. Wanting to help her friends make up, Usagi suggests the couple enter a love contest that will take place at the Lovers Park' opening ceremony.
Kaolinite has a new target: Makoto. When Haruka and Michiru find out, they decide to use Makoto as bait in order to obtain her talisman.
Kaolinite sets her eyes on Ami, believing that the famous girl genius would possess a pure heart full of confidence. But in reality, Ami is having doubts about her own identity, worrying that her academic skill is the only thing that defines her.
Realizing that the two mysterious Sailor Guardians Uranus and Neptune are also after the talismans, Kaolinite sends a Daimon to get rid of them for good.
Rei's been spending the past several nights chanting to learn the meaning behind the strange nightmares she's been having. Worried for her health, Yuichiro tries to help Rei out, only to realize that there is not much he can do.
Seeing the happy couples around her, Minako starts questioning her life as a Sailor Guardian and the sacrifices she has to make. Minako's doubt intensifies after she learns that one of her schoolmate used to like her but has since moved on to find a new girlfriend.
Kaolinite is confident that she has finally found a person possessing the talisman. Aided by a Daimon, Kaolinate goes after her next target: Usagi.
Taking Tuxedo Mask as a hostage, Kaolinite tells Usagi and the Sailor Guardians to come to the top of Tokyo Tower for their final showdown. Desperate to save her love, a powerless Usagi leaves her friends behind and heads to the tower alone.

The girls are taking a tour at one of the high schools they plan to apply to next year. There, they meet Elza Gray, a star track-and-field athlete who used to compete against Haruka Tenoh back in middle school.
Chibi-Usa is stunned at the sight of Usagi and the others enjoying an apple pie since she actually made the pie especially for Masanori, the boy she has a crush on.
Mamoru and the girls receive an invitation to a party hosted by Edwards, an Englishman who lives alone on the outskirts of the town.
Minako realizes that she is the only Sailor Guardian who has not been targeted by a Daimon. Fearing that she may not be purehearted like her friends, Minako decides to participate in several blood drives so that she can be the Daimon's next target.
Michiru and Haruka sense that soon they will find the talismans. Meanwhile, Eudial has deduced the identities of the ones possessing the talismans and challenges Uranus and Neptune to a final showdown to settle their score once and for all.
Uranus and Neptune are revealed to be the ones possessing the talismans. In order to save the two, the Sailor Guardians go after Eudial, who is on the run with their talismans.
Mimete takes over for the deceased Eudial to gather the pure hearts necessary to awaken the Messiah of Silence. Mimete sets as her first target Yosaku Eda, a popular actor whom she is also a fan of.
Usagi is very intrigued when she hears Chibi-Usa is going to a "friend's" house to play. She heads out with Chibi-Usa to get a look at her handsome new boyfriend, but Usagi finds herself at the house of Hotaru, a sickly girl.
Minako and Mimete enter a movie audition where the winner gets to costar with the idol Jinta Araki. As his longtime fans, both girls are eager to win the role no matter what.
The Three Guardians of the Outer Solar System sense something dangerous lurking inside Hotaru Tomoe's personality. Noticing Chibi-Usa becoming fast friends with the girl, Haruka warns Usagi and the others to keep Chibi-Usa away from Hotaru for her own safety.
Hotaru tries to avoid Chibi-Usa out of fear that her other violent personality will someday bring harm to her only friend. Undaunted, Chibi-Usa invites Hotaru to go on a picnic.
Shun Hayase is a high school athlete who sets a new national record in the men's high jump after overcoming health issues as a child. Inspired by his story, Hotaru gets up the courage to visit the practice field where Shun is training in order to hand him a letter showing how much she looks up to him.
A freak accident caused by Mimete results in Hotaru's house getting pulled into a dimensional rift, with Hotaru and Chibi-Usa trapped inside.
Usagi and her friends visit a new planetarium, which has opened in the Juban District. Mimete, who has her eyes on the guest DJ Thomas Harris, attacks with Daimon u Choten.
Usagi and her friends sneak into Mugen Academy in search of Hotaru, who has gone missing. Meanwhile in the auditorium, Mimete attends the lecture of subspace physicist Sergei Asimov in hopes of outdoing her successor, Tellu.
A new variety of flower called Tellun is being sold at a flower shop in the Juban District. But as it turns out, the flowers are actually a monster plant created by Tellu of Witches 5 for the purpose of stealing and gathering large quantities of pure hearts at once.
Usagi and the others sneak into the practice examination site of the suspicious Mugen Academy, where they meet a student named Yui Bido who takes an interest in Ami's intelligence. Inviting her to a secret underground lab, Yui shows Ami her projects and explains the teaching philosophy of Mugen Academy.
The last member of the Witches 5, Cyprine, manages to steal a large number of pure hearts from the students of Mugen Academy. Meanwhile, Kaolinite takes notice of Chibi-Usa's power and kidnaps her!
The revived Mistress 9 attempts to call Pharaoh 90, an energy life-form from another dimension, to Earth. Meanwhile, Usagi and the others are unable to enter the academy due to the powerful dark energy shielding the area.
Hotaru's and Mistress 9's consciousnesses engage in a fierce battle. Sailor Moon gives up the Holy Grail to Souichi Tomoe in order to save Hotaru's heart, only for it to fall into the hands of Mistress 9!
Following the fight with Pharaoh 90, Usagi and her friends search for Hotaru in the ruins of Mugen Academy. Haruka and Michiru appear in front of them and for some reason begin to berate Usagi, stating that she is unworthy to be their future Queen.
The Door of Space and Time is opened, allowing Chibi-Usa to return to the future. Usagi and Chibi-Usa vow to see each other again, but at the same time, the final Daimon rises from the ashes of Mugen Academy and begins its assault!
