When 39-year-old Takebayashi Ryoma dies from blood loss (after sneezing and hitting his head on the ground), he is reincarnated as an 8-year-old boy in a fantasy world. Not the greatest way to bite the dust, but at least he reincarnates! Set on this path by three major gods, Ryoma begins to live a life of solitude in the forest, studying slimes. But if you're a fan of isekai…you know life for him won't be that simple.
Thugs are attacking Ryoma's business and assaulting Ryoma at night. The adults around Ryoma suspect that something nefarious is going on, so they start an investigation while Ryoma works on improving security at his business.
Ryoma arrives at Lenaf, the new town where he plans to open the second branch of his laundry shop. He meets Pioro and Miyabi Saionji, the father-daughter duo of the local Saionji Trading Company.
While on a quick job outside of Lenaf, Ryoma encounters the smash boar, a monster terrorizing the town. The monster is tough, powerful, and looks absolutely delicious.
With the rest of his life moving along quite smoothly, Ryoma decides to take on more adventuring jobs to raise his adventurer rank. He visits Maylene at the Adventurer's Guild to discuss the next steps.
Ryoma enjoys the magic item market and strikes a deal with Dinome. Afterwards, back home in Gimul, Ryoma meets several children and deepens his connection to the local community.
Ryoma learns about an upcoming festival at Gimul, and comes across some local delicacies and ingredients that aren't very popular yet. Ryoma's knowledge of Japanese food from his previous life might help him come up with something delicious.
After meeting the group of traveling entertainers that will be performing at the upcoming festival, Ryoma begins preparations, including taking on some monsters causing a nuisance in the road leading up to the town.
Life at the academy turns out to be very boring for Eliaria. Fortunately, with a little help from Ryoma, she meets some classmates who might be able to become friends with her.
Worgan approaches Ryoma for another job. He needs someone to hunt and collect wood from tree-like monsters called treants. They also happen to be one of the types of monsters Ryoma needs to practice fighting against.
Coming back from the treant job, Ryoma discovers that, not only are the preparations for the festival going smoothly, his activities are spurring others into action. Things are looking good for this festival!
The Foundation Festival begins. The hard work put into the preparation paid off, and Ryoma's food stall has a good start. Ryoma takes a break to look around the festival and the town he now calls home.
