Rash returns to the ED and is immediately thrown into dealing with an attack at a market in Holby, while Ethan attends the scene. And David's son Ollie arrives at the ED out of the blue.

Ethan struggles to cope in the aftermath of the incident at the market, and decides to throw himself into his work. When Theo, an old friend from university, arrives at the emergency department with his daughter Effie, who has Cystic Fibrosis, Ethan puts himself on the line to give her a chance. After the loss of his mother, Rash decided to delay his return to work, but soon finds himself helping a mother and baby in desperate need of care. Meanwhile, Duffy worries about the future.

An accident brings David and Ollie closer together, and Duffy learns how overlooked some care home residents can be.

Archie takes justice into her own hands to support a wronged patient, a friend from Iain's past helps him think about his future, and Rash struggles to cope as pressure mounts.

Hospital drama with the staff of Holby's accident and emergency department. Taking his own advice with reassurance from Ruby and Jan, Iain decides to join the HEMS team. Meanwhile, Rash's career is in jeopardy when he gets blamed for a mistake made by Mason, and Ethan's fascination with Effie deepens.

David and Ollie continue to clash after Ollie's operation, and David is taken aback when he finds out that Ollie has invited Rosa round to keep him company. Meanwhile, Rash decides to fight to stay in Holby, and new paramedic Lev arrives late for work after saving some kittens.

Mason struggles to ask for help in his most difficult week as a junior doctor and Ethan cancels his assessment with Mason when Effie turns up wanting his advice about the clinical trial. David, Ollie and Rosa are all playing happy families, until David is shocked to learn his ex-wife Rosalene is demanding Ollie come back and live with her.

Despite receiving some devastating test results, Duffy continues to offer her support to others, which results in David and Dylan offering her a voluntary position in the emergency department. Meanwhile, Ethan struggles to keep his personal life from distracting him at work, and Archie turns to Will for help.

Archie is shocked when Vincent, the retired school master who was acid attacked by one of his abused ex-students, returns to the emergency department. Elsewhere, Rashid and Mason finally put their differences aside and make peace when they discover that Leena has Menieres disease, and Ethan finds himself under pressure to rig the trial.

Tension increases between Ethan and Rash when Ethan catches Rash making another personal call. A potential argument between the two is interrupted when Micky, who is being returned from x-ray, starts coughing up blood and goes into cardiac arrest. David finds Rosa's letter in his car and, having caught sight of his name and a scribbled love heart, pursues Rosa for answers. Charlie knows more help is needed for Duffy's care, but is frustrated with the lack of resources in the NHS and his personal lack of funds to seek private help.

Ethan regrets his actions when Effie's trial goes wrong, Jade faces a dilemma, and Danny's impromptu visit to his childhood home isn't quite the family reunion he hoped for.

During a routine CQC investigation, Robyn is devastated to realise she can't rely on Duffy. Ethan stifles his feelings and turns his back on Effie, and Rash protects Mason from Dylan.

Ruby tells Jan that she no longer wants to work with Lev after she learns about his shady past. Rosa and David put their fake relationship into action, and the terror attack continues to haunt Ethan.

Rash can't stand it when Mason saves the day, Charlie is shocked to learn that Duffy can't look after herself, and Rosa realises her mum has lied to David.

Charlie learns to get by with a little help from his ED family. Rash feels isolated and left behind as Mason flies ever higher. Will and Archie take on a tough patient together, cementing their friendship in the process.

Ruby comes to terms with her pregnant sister's arrival, David and Rosa celebrate a Christmas wedding, and Charlie's Christmas optimism is put to the test.

Dylan decides its time to take a stand, both in his personal and professional life. Meanwhile, Ruby finds the courage to take temporary custody of baby Harmony. When she hears the news, Violette agrees to try and get clean, and decides to send Arlo away. Elsewhere, Connie returns to the emergency department.

Jacob attempts to make a difference in two patients' lives, while Ruby helps Archie get to the bottom of an ED mystery.

Faith brings her son Luka to the ED after he falls from his sister's bunk bed, injuring his head and wrist. Dylan treats the youngster, and becomes more concerned that there is an underlying issue, and following a CT scan, he is diagnosed with a brain tumour. A concerned Charlie has to placate a distressed Duffy, who has been trying to phone Bill in the early hours of the morning.

Marty is betrayed by a man he thought he had fallen in love with, and an injured pilot who had been tasered for attempting to hijack a plane is been brought into the emergency department for treatment. Meanwhile, Archie and Connie bond over their work, and Charlie questions his decision to put Duffy in a care home.

An anxious Charlie searches for Duffy, who is missing in hostile weather conditions. Meanwhile, Lev is unable to accept the severity of Luka's prognosis.

Charlie struggles to deal with recent events in the emergency department, and Connie finds it increasingly difficult to hide her emotions, which could bring her and Archie closer together. Meanwhile, Rash finds himself in the middle of an intense and complex case when two friends are brought to the emergency department for treatment.

Ruby and Violette's relationship is pushed to the limit when Violette betrays Ruby's trust... and puts baby Harmony's life in danger.

After spending the night with Lara from IT, Will is struggling to finish a tedious report for Connie and ends up calling on Lara for help. But Will soon learns not to mix romance and work.

Ethan returns to an ED that has barely recovered from Mason's death and gets a less than warm welcome from Rash. Ethan and Rash have no choice but to work together, but end up clashing - tensions are still running high.

Violette is trying her best to get clean in rehab, and is prepared to fight Ruby for custody of baby Harmony. However, a bad decision leads to devastating consequences for the sisters…

Faith struggles to cope with Luka's diagnosis and considers joining a support group for parents of children with cancer. When Lev is adamant that he doesn't need help, Faith turns to Dylan for comfort.

After complaining to Will about his latest dating rejection, Ethan meets Fenisha at the vending machine.

Faith and Lev prepare for Luka's surgery and the Emergency Department rally around to show their support for the family.

Meanwhile, Zsa Zsa, who has flown in for the operation, interrogates Dylan on the lengths he has gone to for Faith.

The team is shocked when Charlie returns to work earlier than expected, despite Duffy's death. Charlie throws himself into work as a distraction from his grief, but soon becomes agitated when he realises a few things in the ED have changed in his absence.

Marty arrives at work hungover and arranges a hook-up for his lunch break, but is crushed when it leads to yet another rejection.

Ruby fails to juggle Harmony and work, and Marty pushes Jade to the limit.

A new paramedic joins Lev on a shift and soon catches Will's eye in the emergency department. Meanwhile, Rash nervously stands in for Archie at a conference for junior doctors and learns to trust his own judgement when he is confronted with a bullish patient. Jacob is troubled by Charlie's lack of engagement at work and tries to have a heart to heart with him, but the conversation it does not go well and Jacob is forced to take action.

A heartbroken Lev struggles with Luka's chemotherapy, and grieving Charlie finally snaps.

An excited Fenisha asks Jan about holiday leave, but her good mood is cut short when she discovers she is pregnant. Connie is called upon to treat a drunk Charlie, who's scraped his head falling over in the park. Realising that Charlie's dramatic exit from the ED following Duffy's death was merely the start of his struggles, Connie encourages the department to keep this as quiet as possible, so as not to embarrass him or tarnish his reputation at the hospital.

Up to his eyes in work, an overwhelmed Noel is brushed off by Connie, but is quickly distracted by a troubled teenager in the emergency department, who has inured her hand punching a car door, and her mother Sandi. Meanwhile, Dylan does what he can to help an overwhelmed Faith as she struggles to cope while Luka is in chemotherapy, and things become complicated for Fenisha when a patient on a call-out helps her to make a life changing decision about her unborn baby.

Jade makes a huge decision about her reaching out to her birth mother. When marine veteran Nate comes into the hospital claiming to have fallen from his wheelchair during a stunt, he quickly bonds with Jacob, who is thrilled to treat someone with such an exciting life. Meanwhile, Fenisha disobeys Jan's orders when the pair attend the scene of an accident at a wrestling match. Back at the hospital, Jan hands her an official warning, putting her future in jeopardy.

When ex-con Mick realises his son, Connor, is being moved to America, he desperately pulls a gun on his social worker, Ruth. In an attempt to escape, Mick shoots Ruth in the leg, and flees the hospital. Later, he returns and takes hostages in the emergency department, and Charlie puts his life on the line to try and protect those around him. Meanwhile, Dylan risks his life for Faith, which makes her question her emotions towards him, and a frustrated Will asks Fenisha to give him a second chance.

Jade prepares to meet her birth mother for the first time. She's incredibly nervous, convinced she was given away because of her deafness, but Marty tries his best to reassure her. She faces her fears and heads to a cafe to meet her mum, finally uncovering the truth behind her past in the process. Meanwhile, Charlie throws himself back into work, but it's clear there is something else on his mind, and Faith attempts a conversation with Dylan but he pushes her away, claiming he needs some distance.

Lev reflects on a traumatic childhood after connecting with a patient of similar heritage, and Jan struggles to prioritise her marriage over her work.

Ethan battles his PTSD and throws himself into action after a dangerous incident at Holby Comic Con, and Faith leans on Dylan for support after Luka's latest scan.

Jacob is concerned when Nate is brought into the ED struggling to breathe, and temptation gets the better of Lev.

David struggles to manage his bipolar symptoms as his past comes back to haunt him, and Dylan's morals are pushed to their limit.

An utterly conflicted Dylan struggles to contain his fury at Lev, and Fenisha steps up to help in Jan's hour of need.
