David and Ollie continue to clash after Ollie's operation, and David is taken aback when he finds out that Ollie has invited Rosa round to keep him company. Meanwhile, Rash decides to fight to stay in Holby, and new paramedic Lev arrives late for work after saving some kittens.
Mason struggles to ask for help in his most difficult week as a junior doctor and Ethan cancels his assessment with Mason when Effie turns up wanting his advice about the clinical trial. Elsewhere, Rashid and Mason finally put their differences aside and make peace when they discover that Leena has Menieres disease, and Ethan finds himself under pressure to rig the trial.
Tension increases between Ethan and Rash when Ethan catches Rash making another personal call. A potential argument between the two is interrupted when Micky, who is being returned from x-ray, starts coughing up blood and goes into cardiac arrest. David finds Rosa's letter in his car and, having caught sight of his name and a scribbled love heart, pursues Rosa for answers. Charlie knows more help is needed for Duffy's care, but is frustrated with the lack of resources in the NHS and his personal lack of funds to seek private help.
Ethan regrets his actions when Effie's trial goes wrong, Jade faces a dilemma, and Danny's impromptu visit to his childhood home isn't quite the family reunion he hoped for.
During a routine CQC investigation, Robyn is devastated to realise she can't rely on Duffy. Ethan stifles his feelings and turns his back on Effie, and Rash protects Mason from Dylan.

A concerned Charlie has to placate a distressed Duffy, who has been trying to phone Bill in the early hours of the morning.
Marty is betrayed by a man he thought he had fallen in love with, and an injured pilot who had been tasered for attempting to hijack a plane is been brought into the emergency department for treatment. Meanwhile, Archie and Connie bond over their work, and Charlie questions his decision to put Duffy in a care home.

Realising that Charlie's dramatic exit from the ED following Duffy's death was merely the start of his struggles, Connie encourages the department to keep this as quiet as possible, so as not to embarrass him or tarnish his reputation at the hospital.
Up to his eyes in work, an overwhelmed Noel is brushed off by Connie, but is quickly distracted by a troubled teenager in the emergency department, who has inured her hand punching a car door, and her mother Sandi. Meanwhile, Dylan does what he can to help an overwhelmed Faith as she struggles to cope while Luka is in chemotherapy, and things become complicated for Fenisha when a patient on a call-out helps her to make a life changing decision about her unborn baby.
Jade makes a huge decision about her reaching out to her birth mother. When marine veteran Nate comes into the hospital claiming to have fallen from his wheelchair during a stunt, he quickly bonds with Jacob, who is thrilled to treat someone with such an exciting life. Meanwhile, Fenisha disobeys Jan's orders when the pair attend the scene of an accident at a wrestling match. Back at the hospital, Jan hands her an official warning, putting her future in jeopardy.
When ex-con Mick realises his son, Connor, is being moved to America, he desperately pulls a gun on his social worker, Ruth. In an attempt to escape, Mick shoots Ruth in the leg, and flees the hospital. Later, he returns and takes hostages in the emergency department, and Charlie puts his life on the line to try and protect those around him. Meanwhile, Dylan risks his life for Faith, which makes her question her emotions towards him, and a frustrated Will asks Fenisha to give him a second chance.
Jade prepares to meet her birth mother for the first time. She's incredibly nervous, convinced she was given away because of her deafness, but Marty tries his best to reassure her. She faces her fears and heads to a cafe to meet her mum, finally uncovering the truth behind her past in the process. Meanwhile, Charlie throws himself back into work, but it's clear there is something else on his mind, and Faith attempts a conversation with Dylan but he pushes her away, claiming he needs some distance.
Lev reflects on a traumatic childhood after connecting with a patient of similar heritage, and Jan struggles to prioritise her marriage over her work.
Ethan battles his PTSD and throws himself into action after a dangerous incident at Holby Comic Con, and Faith leans on Dylan for support after Luka's latest scan.
Jacob is concerned when Nate is brought into the ED struggling to breathe, and temptation gets the better of Lev.
