Psychiatrist Henri Lacombe heads the National Institute of Mental Health. Day after day, his mission is to ease the suffering of his patients. His wife, Anne Beaulieu, is a consultant psychologist in a private clinic. Both make up the ups and downs of everyday family life with their two children, Marine and William. Henri's world changes the day Anne does not show up at the restaurant where they have to meet. What happened to her?
A day full of emotions awaits psychiatrist Henri Lacombe and his wife Anne Beaulieu, a psychologist by profession. Anne still insists with Henri to go out for supper. In the evening, Anne never shows up at the restaurant. Unusual behavior on his part. Henri looks for her, but his wife cannot be found. Powerless, he alerts the authorities. His nightmare becomes real when his file is referred to Simone Vallier, a major crimes investigator: his wife is indeed missing.
The mystery hovers around the disappearance of Anne Beaulieu. Henri and the children spend an eventful first night, where memories intertwine with worry and fear of never seeing her again. Simone and Danno Boulianne, her faithful teammate, enter the scene. Henri goes to Anne's office with Simone where a big surprise awaits them. The search is accelerating while visibly: a threat is lurking.
Simone and Danno continue their investigation and the story of Patrick Lemire, Henri's patient who took his own life, resurfaces. Richard and Sophie show great solidarity with the family of their great friend. Marine takes advantage of their presence to confess to her father a secret that eats away at her. Back home, Marine confronts her roommate Alice and especially her journalist sister, about the consequences of the biased interview she conducted with her mother.
Despite the mourning, Henri must ensure. First with his son William who gives him warning signs and his patients who need him. Regarding the investigation, Henri is always reluctant to reveal the identity of patients for whom he has doubts, pleading his professional duty. Far from giving up, Simone and Danno go to Judge Guénette to obtain a warrant to access Anne's client files. Consumed by guilt, Marine arrives at the police station to speak to Simone. Could there be a link between the interview that her mother gave Roxanne and her murder?
Parental responsibilities catch up with Henri in the middle of the night, when he receives a disturbing call from Alice who has lost track of Marine. Still very vulnerable, the latter took refuge with her new friend Tristan. An article in the media reports that the investigation into the murder of Anne Beaulieu is going in circles. Stung, Simone and Danno redouble their ardor and refine their strategy to corner Mark Cohen, who has become their main suspect. Helped by Louise, Henri draws up a list of potentially suspicious names. Jules Côté, a former patient who recently left the Institute, could he be the perpetrator of the crime?
Simone and Danno talk to Dr. Kenton, a member of the advisory board that Anne worked with as part of her awareness campaign. For the first time, Anne is portrayed as a woman who was not well. Revelation that disturbs Henri. Faced with the financial instability of his company following the search, Mark Cohen makes an unexpected visit to the investigators. Marine finds a way to relaunch the research on her mother's murder herself. Simone's life changes at the same time as her investigation.
At the Institute, Henri spends a stormy day in the presence of his patients. At Simone's request, Laure goes to the police station. The meeting suddenly becomes very intense and has serious repercussions for his brother Toby. A reversal in the investigation particularly concerns Henri, whose certainties crumble one by one. Anne did not tell him everything. Simone is there to support her as she herself sees her personal life fall apart.
For once, Simone and Danno do not agree on how to conduct the interview with Sacha Brousseau, a former patient of Dr. Lacombe who would have every reason in the world to resent him. Richard and Sophie kick off the awareness campaign initiated by Anne. For the couple, a big surprise is added to the emotion that this day already arouses. Julia, Anne's sister, calls Simone to share a secret about her sister.
Simone now has crucial information about the personal life of Anne Beaulieu. In order to corroborate this new lead, Simone must resolve to ask Henri for help, knowing full well that she will break his heart. Himself in a hurry to know the truth about his wife, he agrees to help Simone. Still obsessed with Marine, Jules Côté gets closer and closer to her. The girl is in danger.
Undermined by all these revelations about Anne and still not knowing who killed his wife, Henri is at his wit's end. Even the investigator Simone Vallier with whom he believed to have established a good complicity, does not return his calls. Our characters are backed up against the wall and experience moments of high tension where everyone hopes to finally solve the mystery surrounding the brutal death of the psychologist. An unsuspected outcome will surprise them all.
