In the 1970s, Detroit was experiencing an economic boom in the automobile industry, and lush neighborhoods housed the rich beneficiaries of Motor City. But the idyllic suburban life ended abruptly when four children were abducted and killed by the Oakland County Child Killer in the dead of winter. Fears of a serial killer targeting children haunted the region for 13 months, with parents warning their children to stay away from strangers and keep close to home. Then, the killings stopped.
In 1976, the first of four children is abducted and murdered in the suburbs of Detroit. After more than 30 years the families of the four murdered children and Detroiters like J. Reuben Appelman are determined to find the Oakland County Child Killer.
Frustrated by decades of police silence, one victim's family puts the case back on the front page. Detective Williams gets a big break in the Oakland County Child Killer. New technology reveals new leads from old evidence.
