Comhrá, one of TG4's most popular series, is a deceptively simple format – a conversation between the host, the award-winning broadcaster Máirtín Tom Sheáinín, and his weekly guest. His particular talent is to put his guest completely at ease – whether the person is a national figure or someone who has lived life far away from the headlines – all are happy to share their innermost feelings or experiences in a quiet conversation with Máirtín.Among this year's guests are a former Northern Ireland Assembly Minister, a Spiritual Advisor in the world-famous seminary in Maynooth, a wandering minstrel from Donegal, a Eurovision Song Contest presenter and the singing entrepreneur who owns one of Cork's best-known hotels.
Máirtín Tom Sheáinín talks to Peadar Ó Flatharta. Peadar was born and raised on a small farm in Droim Cuilinn, Co Offaly in the heart of hurling country. He won two All-Ireland Senior Hurling titles with Offaly and has also won two All-Star awards.
Máirtín Tom Sheáinín talks to Deirdre Wadding from Wexford. Deirdre got pregnant at 18 and her mother sent her to Bessborough Mother and Children's Home in Cork. Deirdre was a county councillor in Wexford for three years and now teaches courses for women who want to become priestesses as well as witches.
Máirtín Tom Sheáinín talks to Seán Madden from Conamara. Seán was born and raised in Cill Chiaráin and aged 14 took the boat to Liverpool to work on the beet. He got married and had five children and now lives in Cill Chiaráin with his wife Bríd. Seán has plenty of stories about sailing, boat races and of Lá Chiaráin
Máirtín Tom Sheáinín talks to entertainer Seán Monaghan. Seán is a composer and singer originally from Maínis in Carna, Conamara. His family moved across the county to Belclare near Tuam when he was 10 years old. Seán composed and sang An Dreoilín and Amhrán an Ronnach and was also the lead singer of the Máimín Cajun Band. He is married with two children
Máirtín Tom Sheáinín talks to Frank Fahy from Menlo, Co Galway. Frank has been very active in city life and has been a taxi driver for over 30 years. He has been on the Galway City Council since 2011 and became Mayor of Galway in 2015. Frank has a huge interest in promoting the Irish language and culture
