Marvel's Daredevil, or simply Daredevil, is an American web television series created for Netflix by Drew Goddard, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is the first in a series of shows that will lead up to a Defenders crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, DeKnight Prods. and Goddard Textiles, with Steven S. DeKnight serving as showrunner on the first season, and Goddard acting as consultant. Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will take over as showrunners for the show's second season.
Charlie Cox stars as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, a lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. The series chronicles the character's early days fighting crime, juxtaposed with the rise of crime lord Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio. Daredevil entered development in late 2013, a year after the film rights to the character reverted to Marvel, with Goddard initially hired in December 2013. DeKnight replaced him as showrunner and Cox was hired to star in May 2014, with Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Bob Gunton, Ayelet Zurer, and Rosario Dawson also starring. Filming takes place in New York City, in areas that still look like the old Hell’s Kitchen. (source: en.wikipedia.org)

Matt goes prison using Foggy's stolen bar card to get information on Fisk from the Albanians, while Foggy and Marci settle on the best way for Foggy to protect himself from Fisk.
Fisk analyzes Dex's past while looking for a scapegoat to take the public's eye off of him. Meanwhile, Ray questions Foggy and Karen about their involvement with CGI and Wesley's disappearance.
Fisk makes Dex an offer, while Foggy negotiates a deal with the FBI for Matt to turn himself in.... if they'll listen to an exonerating witness first.
Ray begins to suspect that Fisk has been playing him as well as the entire FBI. Meanwhile, Matt, Karen, and Foggy each deal with the aftermath of the Bulletin attack in their own way.
Dex reaches out to Julie but Fisk has other plans. Daredevil teams up with Ray to get the good on Dex, and Karen confront Fisk in his penthouse.
While Matt takes in the news of who his mother is, Karen prepares to run, Foggy gets some bad news from his brother, and Fisk tightens his fist on the NYC underworld.
In the past, the reason behind Karen leaving home is revealed. In the present, Dex tracks Karen to the church and Daredevil tries to stop him.
After the church slaughter, Ray has a decision to make and puts his family at risk. After Maggie gives him sanctuary, Matt meets with Karen and Foggy to decide on a plan of action against Fisk.
Vanessa returns to NYC but Fisk realizes that something is bothering her. Meanwhile, Murdock & Nelson represent a new client, but Fisk has anticipated their strategem.
As Fisk and Vanessa prepare for their wedding day, Daredevil makes a call to Dex that pushes him over the line.
