Der Bestatter tells the story of a detective (Luc Conrad) who leaves the force to take over the family business as an undertaker at the same time as he is being investigated for murder. His close encounters with corpses and his earlier police training lead him to see things some of his ex-colleagues miss and he investigates the crimes he encounters in an unofficial capacity often to the dismay of he official police.
Luc doubts that the death of a beautiful woman was accidental and mixes himself up in the investigation, much to his ex-girlfriend's chagrin.
A man is found dead with a swastika on his forehead. But the victim's son, who knows the killer's identity, is in equally grave danger.
A hih-speed car crash ends in death, unerthing dark family secrets. Meanwhile, Luc continues his search for Bernhard's killer.
Anna-Maria is faced with a dilemma: A shady lawyer is found dead after a bad fight with Luc. Now she has no choice but to arrest her ex.
