Michael and Justin were just 17 and 16 when they say they were targeted, groomed, and then sexually assaulted by their 25-year-old teacher. They say it started with their teacher helping them with their homework, but it soon shifted to off-campus visits involving drugs and alcohol. Another victim, Mason who was only 11 years old when he was sexually assaulted by his married 35-year-old teacher. They are all joined by their attorneys, Zach Runyan and Jon Marko, who say they are disgusted by the actions of these teachers. They blame social media and the schools for not paying attention to the grooming going on behind these classroom doors. Christy Jack, a defense attorney who has represented dozens of teachers accused of sexual assault against a student, gives Dr. Phil her thoughts on why these teachers do what they do. One of Christy's clients, a former teacher who was convicted and served time in prison for her inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student, opens up about what she did it.

In part two of Dr. Phil's examination into why more and more female teachers are preying on their young students, Dr. Phil continues his interview with a teacher who has never spoken out about her inappropriate relationship she had with a 14-year-old student. She was convicted and served a three-year prison sentence. She says her successful career as an educator, her family and other relationships suffered from her decision to cross boundaries with her young student. Dr. Phil gets insight into why she developed this relationship with the young teen half her age. Does she feel any remorse? Does she regret it? We finally get to understand what goes on in the mind of these young teachers who make these bad decisions.

Dr Phil talks with Cindy, a former resident of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, who says she experience months of escalating violence, including shootings, armed men in hallways, and threats, which she attributes to Venezuelan gang known as Tren De Aragua. Despite her frequent calls to 911, Cindy says police response was inadequate. She eventually moved out with the help of city council member Danielle Jurinsky, who has been vocal about the suspected presence of Venezuelan gangs in the area. Cindy and Danielle are joined by John Fabbricatore, a former ICE field director who says Colorado's sanctuary state status has made it attractive for gangs like Tren De Aragua to set up shop. He also blames lax security at our borders contributing to the gang presence in Colorado. Robert Roberson has been sitting on death row in Texas for over two decades after being convicted in 2002 for the death of his two-year-old daughter Nikki. He is scheduled to be executed on October 17, 2024. Robert's attorneys say Robert is a victim of a "junk science" conviction related to shaken baby syndrome (SBS). Roberson has always claimed her death was accidental. While SBS was widely accepted then, evolving medical science now questions its validity, suggesting other causes like infections or falls. Dr. Phil speaks with Stephanie, a childcare worker convicted of "Shaken Baby Syndrome," and Donna, who met Roberson through her son and believes in his innocence. Attorney Gretchen Sween is Roberson's attorney, forensic legal expert Kate Judson, and "Wrongful Convictions" podcast host Jason Flom argue Robert's conviction is based on outdated science. This border situation has become a political powder keg, with both sides of the aisle using it as ammunition in this upcoming election in just a few weeks. But tonight, we're focusing on the Arizona border. With 378 miles of shared border with Mexico, divided into the Tucson and Yuma sectors, Arizona has become a hotspot for illegal crossings. The "gotaways" are people who slip past our Border Patrol without getting caught. In the fiscal year 2023, Arizona had more than 775,000 illegal border crossers, and at least 200,000 were "gotaways". There is a stretch of road called "Smuggler's Highway," which is a remote, treacherous stretch of desert where temperatures can soar to a blistering 118 degrees. Smugglers are leading migrants through this hellish terrain, putting lives at risk and overwhelming our Border Patrol agents. And if that weren't bad enough, the cartels are getting crafty in Arizona. They're using social media to recruit American teenagers to be their drug or human mules. Sheriff Lamb tells Dr. Phil how he attempts to wrangle this situation. Plus, Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels tells Dr. Phil that in the last 31 months, there have been 500 to 600 pursuits coming through his rural county. Dr. Phil talks to the Vice President of the Border Agent Council, Art Del Cueto, who says the media is not reporting much about Arizona's border issues. With his execution halted, will Robert Roberson finally have a chance at justice as new evidence, legislative allies, and a growing public outcry push for a retrial?

Robert Roberson, who was set to be executed on October 17, 2024, for the 2002 death of his 2-year-old daughter Nikki, was granted a last-minute stay by the Texas Supreme Court. This unexpected reprieve followed a subpoena from Texas lawmakers requesting Roberson's testimony before the House Criminal Justice Committee. Roberson's conviction heavily relied on the now-disputed "shaken baby syndrome" diagnosis, but new evidence suggests Nikki's death may have resulted from natural causes, like pneumonia. Both the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals previously declined to intervene, and the Supreme Court's decision has sparked debate over the balance of power between Texas's legislative and judicial branches.  The case has drawn national attention, bolstered by support from Dr. Phil, who testified before the Texas Legislature on Roberson's behalf. The debate has also reignited scrutiny of forensic evidence standards and Texas's 2013 "junk science" law as lawmakers and courts reconsider Roberson's fate.  Dr. Phil speaks with Terre, a 2003 juror from Roberson's trial who now believes in his innocence, stating she wasn't presented with all the evidence.
