Emergency Helicopter Medics follows some of Britain's busiest air ambulance teams as they race to bring the hospital emergency department to the roadside.
Both of the Great North Air Ambulance's helicopters are dispatched to help a critically injured father and his two young sons, following a car collision in Cockermouth. The crew from Thames Valley Air Ambulance head to Bracknell, where Martin is having breathing difficulties. Plus, in Stanford-le-Hope, gardener Graham has a nasty open ankle fracture after falling off a ladder.
Penny is in anaphylactic shock after a wasp sting and Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland air ambulance crews are on their way. The Essex and Herts air ambulance look after teenager Connor, who has broken his leg while doing tricks on his bike. Plus, motocross rider Carl needs Thames Valley air ambulance's help after an accident leaves him with a dislocated hip.
The crew of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance race to reach Anthony, who's in traumatic cardiac arrest after coming off his motorbike at high speed. In Buckingham, Thames Valley Air Ambulance look after Carol after she's been trampled by a foal and in Eccles-on-Sea, Carter needs the help of the East Anglian Air Ambulance service after coming off his jet ski. In Brundall, teenager Harry has an open leg fracture after walking in front of a car.
Essex and Herts Air Ambulance rush to help headteacher Andy, who has collapsed after a cardiac arrest at home. In Ipswich, warehouse employee Rob is trapped under a pallet of granite and needs the critical care skills of the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service to help with his broken leg. In Abingdon, the Thames Valley Air Ambulance team try to understand the cause of 13-week pregnant Katie's seizures and in Rayleigh the crew help Jo, who has been lying on her bathroom floor for nine hours with a broken ankle.
