Sandi Toksvig explores the UK's wildest, most remote and beautifully designed holiday homes, accompanied by some of the nation's most fascinating and funny women. From a lighthouse cottage on a private island near the Isle of Skye and a stunning tree house in the Wye Valley, to the only nature reserve in England in which you can stay, every episode visits a different region and promises hidden away places offering glorious sanctuary.
In Devon, stand-up comedian and author Sarah Millican kicks off the series as she and Sandi enjoy a hillside retreat and a gong bath in a private spa.
Sunetra Sarker joins Sandi to enjoy the great outdoors in Norfolk. They visit an old mill keeper's cottage, go seal spotting and stay in a Victorian pump house
Actress Sue Johnston joins Sandi for a Cornish adventure. The pair begin by visiting a magnificently designed modernist beach house in an isolated plot overlooking Praa Sands, making the most of their seafront location with a game of boules and fresh mussels for dinner. Moving on, Sue falls in love with a fairy-tale cottage in the woods and their final destination is a former shepherd's hut transformed into a stunning retreat on an alpaca farm
Sandi whisks panel show host, comedian and friend Sara Pascoe away on a trip to the wilds of Scotland's east coast, where they connect with nature and indulge in Sara's love of animals. They visit a magical forest cabin in Glen Dye, an award-winning architectural home in the East Neuk of Fife and a 16th-century castle on Glen Island.
Sandi escapes to Scotland's Highlands and Islands with psychotherapist and author Philippa Perry. Their first stop is the tiny island of Eilean Shona, where Sandi treats Philippa to a seriously off-grid stay in a renovated Victorian schoolhouse. They cook freshly caught hand-dived scallops on an open fire, but it's the brilliant white sands of the island's beach that capture Sandi's heart. The pair take a ferry to an imaginatively designed two-person hideaway on the isolated peninsula of Knoydart, then later stay in an extravagant and utterly flamboyant artist-owned home in Callander.
Sandi and Jenny Eclair escape to Wales, the Wye Valley and the glorious Malvern Hills, where they visit a century-old flatpack house, a converted fruit store, and a hovering home in the Brecon Beacons
