Over the course of a year, film-maker turned immersive presenter, Livia Simoka, spent five months living with a Pygmy tribe, the Mbendjele. Over the months they share their everyday family dramas, show Livia their tribal traditions like female tooth sharpening, and teach her their unique ways of surviving in the forest.
Livia finds herself in the middle of two families in dispute and learns of the danger posed by a neighbouring hostile tribe
Livia Simoka films a conflict between her hosts and a neighbouring tribe, witnessing at first hand the intimidation and violence the Mbendjele face due to their size. She also sees the theatrical rituals that the Mbendjele practise to help them laugh off adversity.
Government officials arrive in the village to announce the building of a road that will pass straight through it and while the residents welcome the idea, it could bring harm as well as benefits. Meanwhile, local Lothario Ekwamabe is accused of adultery and must defend himself in a public meeting. Concluding edition of the programme in which Livia Simoka travels to the remote jungles of the Republic of the Congo to live with pygmy tribe the Mbendjele, who are almost entirely cut off from the outside world.
