The show began as an NBC Made for TV Movie in 1987 and the show was to have begun weekly in 1988 though because of a writer's strike in 1988 it didn't begin weekly until 1989. After it's 1st season the show left NBC and ABC took the show from 1990 until 1991.
A mysterious man dies in Frank's confessional. Frank calls the police, but when they arrive the body is gone.
A woman of the parish tells her fiancé of her call girl past and is promptly murdered. It's up to Father Frank and Sister Steve to discover if it was the fiancé, or perhaps a former client who killed her.
Sister Steve's ex-boyfriend, Jack, witnesses a murder, but when the cops arrive the victim is alive and well. Jack seeks out Sister Steve for help.
