Join former Emmerdale and Strictly star, actor and first-time farmer Kelvin Fletcher, his wife, actress and model Liz and their four children, as they open their home and hearts to share an intimate insight into their rural life.
Chicken pox hits the Fletcher household just as the family take delivery of their first flock of chickens, while a neighbouring farmer helps Kelvin and Liz with their sheep shearing. Preparations are in full swing for imminent piglet birth, Kelvin and Marnie get some timely advice on managing the ancient woodlands and a milestone is celebrated as the twins take their first steps.
There is an emergency on the farm when a ewe becomes sick, Kelvin readies the older piglets for market and a visit to A&E is in order after a run-in with a wasp's nest. A kitten becomes the newest member of the household and it is party time as Kelvin pulls out all the stops for a surprise birthday bash for Liz's 40th.
The family puts pet lamb Aga in with the rest of the flock, and a couple of older lambs are the first to leave for market. Marnie and Milo make a birdbox and Kelvin is concerned the bad weather might ruin the harvest. Elsewhere, it's another first as the family sets up a stall at the Cheshire Show in an attempt to sell produce to the public.
It's all hands-on deck as a break in the weather offers a chance to save the valuable harvest, while the family witnesses eight piglets being born, but the older ones wreak havoc with the farm's water supply. Liz and Marnie are in the top field checking on the ewes, and Kelvin gets hands-on with some of the feistiest animals on the farm.
The lambing season is full of challenges this year as Kelvin goes through a devastating loss when a three-day-old lamb breaks its leg, while the pigs to go to auction, but will Kelvin make a return on his investment with prices at an all-time low? Elsewhere, Liz tries to get hands-on with the cows and the twins head out to explore blossoming bluebells as the season changes.
The farm opens up to the public for an Easter event that is Liz and Kelvin's chance to bring in more income, while there is drama in the lambing shed when a vet attends to a ewe struggling to give birth. It's time to train the cows and get them used to being on head collars as Kelvin enters them into the Royal Cheshire Show, and Marnie and Milo learn about the important role of hedgerows on the farm.
