Police officer Bjørn is called in to identify the body of a woman and gets a shock when it turns out to be his own daughter. He refuses to believe she committed suicide.

Bjørn follows in the footsteps of a luxury apartment, where he meets a strange woman who turns out to be married to her daughter. He discovers that the daughter has led a life marked by crime and prostitution.

Bjørn visits a brothel to find the prostitute who introduced the daughter to the lifestyle, and who dragged her into a world of parties, drugs, sex and fast cash.

After a meeting with a notorious club owner, Bjørn has to face the fact that his daughter was not the innocent girl he remembered, and that she was not a victim but a volunteer actor on the Dark Web.

The evidence leads to Bjørn's former partner, a corrupt police officer and liar. But Bjørn knows that he met his daughter the night she died, and tries to separate the truth from the lies.

Bjørn interrogates his main suspect, but realizes that the man meant more to his daughter than he could have thought, and that he himself may have been complicit in her death.

Bjørn realizes that his daughter must have taken her own life anyway. Vulnerable and grieving, he and his ex-wife say a final goodbye to their child, but standing by the coffin, Bjørn sees something that changes everything.

Bjørn confronts the forensic pathologist, who thinks that Bjørn has become insane and calls for help. Bjørn is advised to seek psychiatric help, but now he has realized the truth and wants revenge.
