Giving back to the industry in which he made his name, and which almost buckled under the weight of a global pandemic, Fred's Last Resort, will see our favourite French maître d Fred Sirieix, recruit 10 young people at a crossroads in their lives and throw them into a life changing, highly demanding role in the exacting world of luxury, high-end hotel hospitality.
Fred Sirieix challenges a group of youngsters at a crossroads in their lives to run a luxury, five-star hotel in the south of France. Across a stressful summer season, the contestants compete in a variety of demanding challenges, exposing them to all that the land of lavish luxury has to offer, as well as the exacting standards expected of those serving the super-rich. At the end of the series, one person will win a life-changing job for an international hotel group.
Fred sends his young hopefuls to Provence to learn about some of the hotel's top-end suppliers, and they must use what they have learned to organise an evening of fine dining.
The recruits are tasked with transforming the hotel's pétanque court into an events space suitable for hosting one of the region's leading fashion designers.
The competitors organise personalised luxury excursions for VIP guests on the French Riviera, laying on special activities specifically suited to their guests' needs.
Fred's remaining recruits have their hands full with some highly unpredictable four-legged supermodels when they shoot a calendar for a luxury dog fashion brand.
Fred sends his recruits aboard a superyacht on the Med to serve a three-course meal. Who'll be walking the plank at the end of the day?
The remaining recruits are challenged to arrange a lavish engagement party, complete with floral arrangements, cocktails and a dozen white doves.
After the final challenge, Fred has to decide who most deserves a cash prize and the opportunity of a lifetime working for a major international hotel group.
