Her husband Fredriks marijuana operation is a silver lining for the family economy, but everything falls apart and Sonja's forced to play a dangerous game with both the organized crime and the police in order to protect her children. She can no longer be sure about who her friends are and who she can trust.
Sonja Ek lives a happy and loving life with her husband and three children in a suburb of Stockholm. One day, tragedy strikes, and in order to protect her children, Sonja is forced to cross the border into the criminal world.
As police search the Ek family home, Stein is pressed for more information on who the shooter was. Meanwhile, the family waits at the hospital for information about Fredrik's condition.
Niklas asks Sonja to take care of the company's affairs while he is in jail. Meanwhile, Sonja tries to find out who the major is, Stein looks for the missing cocaine and Christian Broman demands money from Stein for the stolen drugs.
Sonja makes contact with Christian Broman while Barry pays a visit to Stein. Meanwhile, Luke takes care of the Children, while Gustav visits Jill and they take ecstasy together.
The police tell Niklas that Sonja is hanging out with Broman. Sonja's investigation leads her to Norway. Kattis persuades Sonja to go out and celebrate Hannah's birthday at Broman's restaurant.
Sonja has told Lukas about what Stein has done, and Lukas seeks him out. Broman suspects that Sonja knows who the Major is.
Katja confronts Sonja and Stein while Linus begins to remember details of the murder. Meanwhile, the police start to monitor Sonja because they suspect she is hiding things.
Linus starts to remember more and resolves to tell Sonja everything at the funeral. Meanwhile, Kattis shares her misgivings with Sonja causing her to realise that Niklas has lied to her.
