Next Episode of German Crime Story: Gefesselt is
unknown.
German answer to "American Crime Story": The first season is titled "Gefesselt" and is inspired by one of Germany's most notorious serial killers, the so-called "acid barrel killer". Oliver Masucci embodies Raik Doormann, who terrifies the Hamburg area in the early 1980s and 1990s. He kidnaps, tortures and brutally kills women in his own nuclear bunker. Clues to his deeds are first found by the victim's guardian and later homicide detective Nela Langenbeck (Angelina Häntsch). During this time, however, women within the police department are seen more as secretaries than investigators. Nela therefore initially earns headshakes for her approaches, but against all odds she eventually gets on the trail of Doormann and his gruesome deeds.
Criminal inspector Nela Langenbeck asks more questions than her male colleagues and has no idea that she is dealing with one of the most spectacular criminal cases in the Federal Republic of Germany involving the apparently blameless citizen and master furrier Raik Doormann.
In court, Elke Berger is humiliated by Raik Doormann and his defense attorney. Meanwhile, Nela Langenbeck learns of another missing person case.
While Raik Doormann enjoys a good life in an open prison, Nela Langenbeck finds a secret message about the disappearance of Cornelia Kessler, who has apparently become the victim of a perfidious power game.
Raik Doormann is planning his escape to Costa Rica. The clock is ticking. Nela Langenbeck lacks the evidence for a murder charge. But the deeper she digs into the past, the louder the cries for help from the torture chamber become.
SOKO 926 is founded under the direction of Balbek, Nela Langenbeck's colleague. A major setback for the commissioner. The news that Cornelia Kessler has entered Germany throws her into another crisis. Isn't Raik Doormann a murderer after all?
The interrogations put a strain on the investigators, because Raik Doormann never tires of inventing new stories. Nela Langenbeck visits Ludwig Lübke to find out more about Raik Doormann's past.
