Next Episode of Gold Rush: Parker's Trail is
unknown.
Between 1896 and 1899, more than 100,000 brave souls set out on a perilous journey into the frozen North on the legendary Klondike Gold Rush trail. Most never made it to the end. Killed or scared off by bears, treacherous terrain, raging torrents and temperatures below -40 degrees, only one in three completed the journey. Now Parker Schnabel of Discovery GOLD RUSH fame, will attempt to make this same journey and document it in Gold Rush: Parker's Trail.
In the season premiere, Parker, and his crew - Tyler Mahoney, Danny Etheridge and Dr. Diego Lazarzaburu - arrive in Peru to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Incas as they chase down historical leads and battle the jungle in their hunt to mine virgin ground. As Parker looks to partner up or mine alongside the world's toughest gold miners, he and his crew must first traverse inhospitable terrain and cross raging rivers. En route, the crew works with a gold miner who shares mining strategies passed down by the Incas, in addition to a mining family who share key insight on how they've mined their land across multiple generations. While they have a promising start, a flood of biblical proportions threatens to leave Parker and the crew stranded.
Parker heads to the Madre de Dios mining district, where he discovers ground so rich he scoops shovels full of gold straight from a riverbank. The team head deep into the jungle with a local tribe to prospect for virgin ground.
Parker prospects La Rinconada mountain, the highest gold mine on earth and a nearly lawless boomtown filled with 60,000 miners. Parker discovers big gold using hand-lit explosives, but a sudden illness threatens to end the trip early.
Parker Schnabel travels to South America, a continent amidst a modern-day gold rush. Following the footsteps of the Incas through Peru and Bolivia, Parker battles jungles and altitude-sickening mountain plains in search of a $100-million claim to mine.
Parker uncovers a fleet of monster 110-ton excavators scooping paydirt from the riverbed deep in the Bolivian jungle. Just when he gets to the gold, two of his team members fall sick.
Parker prospects land in Bolivia's gold belt, where Butch Cassidy roamed.
Parker goes all-in and starts mining the 400-acre Bonanza Creek claim, but a chance encounter with neighboring miners could offer him something even better.
Parker strikes gold in Bolivia at a location that could be the next Klondike. With time running out on his prospect, Parker faces a big decision.
Parker and crew reveal new insights on their riskiest adventure yet as they travel through South America's most extreme environments, searching for a $100-million claim to mine.
