Next Episode of Griff's Great Australian Adventure is
unknown.
British comedian and travel enthusiast Griff Rhys Jones is boarding the trains of Australia to present a very modern look at the land down under. In this six-part series, Griff will criss-cross the vast continent from the west coast to the east coast, north to south, from surf beaches to dusty outback, he'll cover thousands of miles through the heart of this great land. In 2015, Griff took a very successful train journey through Africa. Now he's going to immerse himself in modern Australia, unravel its pioneering history, delight in its indigenous culture, meet some of its more unique characters, and journey through its most isolated towns and spirited cities. Along the way, Griff will discover the history of the railroads, the people that operate them and the communities that rely on them – because it's the railways that made modern Australia.
Continuing his journey across Australia on the Indian Pacific, Griff visits Adelaide, Broken Hill and finally Sydney to discover the unique and diverse definitions of what makes Australia.
Journeying from Brisbane to Cairns aboard the Spirit of Queensland, Griff tries desperately to dodge all the things trying to kill him in the country's deep north: from jellyfish, to dingoes, to whitewater rapids and more… there are some BIG things to be seen along the way.
On the Spirit of the Outback, travelling to Queensland's west, Griff seeks to uncover what makes "the good life": from the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast to the dreams of the Australian Outback, revered by bush poets and pioneers across history.
Griff tumbles through the sky and into this episode in an historic Tiger Moth biplane - he's preparing to hit the rails North to South, travelling on the iconic Ghan from the humid tropics of Darwin down to the dusty red Alice Springs.
Water guides his way, both in the landscape and in his water bottle. Before jumping on the train Griff meets a crocodile, an iconic news editor and a beast of a road train.
