The realities of being a medical student deep in the heart of the Canadian Shield are much different than one would expect. The eight students, who come from all walks of life, to Borealis College of Medicine, will need a lot more than medical books to survive. Each doctor-to-be will be initiated with a hands on approach by saving injured hunters deep in the forest, diving 5000 feet into the earth to help an unconscious miner, and convincing a pregnant woman that riding an ATV is not the best way to induce labor. While facing some of the most outrageous medical situations of their lives, the wild ride will make them the best doctors they can be.
Nancy's finds herself at odds with Dr. Helvi over her handling of a teenage girl's case. Farida discovers the reason behind Krista's mysterious rash. Dr. Kesler brings Gina on a house call with disastrous consequences. Eddy finds yet another way to get into trouble with the cops - and Charlie. Cameron's multiple missteps land him in disciplinary trouble with Dean Dallaire, and Melanie rescues an elderly patient abandoned in the ER.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. Gina and Melanie find Dr. Kesler going through withdrawal, forcing Gina to step in and make a tough call.
Truths like diagnoses reveal themselves in strange ways. Good news about Tara's progress is dampened by Charlie's bad news about the house.
