'Healing' is a powerful and moving story set in the most unlikely place. Inspired by true events, the film follows Viktor Khadem who has almost given up on life, he's been allowed to move after 18 years in prison to serve his final year at a low security unit in regional Victoria. Here he meets Senior Officer Matt Perry who has a unique rehabilitation program set up, giving his prisoners the responsibility of rehabilitating injured raptors, eagles, falcons and owls. Viktor isn't the only new arrival in the prison, but he is given the responsibility of running the Raptor Rehab program and he is finally allowed to start making decisions for himself. Outside of the prison, his social worker Michelle is looking further down his parole journey and tracks down his son, Yousef, who hasn't seen his father since he was a child.
