Join Jane McDonald on a magical trip of a lifetime, as she island hops as a solo traveller around 4 jewels of the Caribbean: Barbados, St Lucia, Grenada and Antigua. In this series, Jane swaps her sea legs for land ones, as she uncovers and experiences the very best that each island has to offer.From swimming in the deep blue sea snorkelling with turtles and through sunken wrecks, to gliding over the canopy of the lush rainforest... from bathing in nature's own volcanic hot tub, to setting sail along uninhabited coastlines discovering secret coves where you can castaway all your cares in the world. Jane will be sharing each experience and along the way she meets friendly faces who help her to unlock the secret of each island, helping us to discover that there's more on each one, than meets the eye.
Jane starts out on the trip of a lifetime as she island-hops solo around the Caribbean. She begins in Barbados, where she goes snorkelling with two fellow Brits from Yorkshire, and hires private tour guide Dawn Lisa to point out the magical sights that leave Jane in awe of the flora, fauna and culture of the island.
Jane heads to St Lucia. taking a trip to the heart of the rainforest to get view of the flora and fauna from above the canopy, and going on a boat ride from the north to the south of the island en route to an outdoor hot tub heated by a volcano. Jane also meets Helen DeMacque-Crockett, aka Pepsi of Pepsi & Shirlie fame, who has St Lucian heritage and has moved to the island to run a sailboat charter business.
The singer visits the island of Grenada, with local chef Belinda taking her to the spice market in the capital St Georges, where they shop for the ingredients to make the speciality of sailfish and cou-cou. The next day, Jane dons her wetsuit and snorkel gear and takes a memorable trip diving beneath the waves, marvelling at the underwater sculpture park at Molinere Bay.
Jane visits Antigua, which she visited during her cruise ship years, and decides to track down island celebrities she has always wanted to meet and fulfil a dream of chartering her own yacht. She begins her trip by swimming with stingrays, before stooping off at the world-famous English Harbour - home to some multimillion-pound yachts.
