A typical Sunday in the Schwarzwaldor Höllgrund. Church service, morning pint and a murderous hunting trip. Who knows what? Who can still trust whom?
Country doctor Fabian dedicates himself with passion to his home visits in the village, with unhealthy consequences. Village police officer Tanja makes a sinister discovery.
Tanja asks Fabian to decide whose side he is on. Villager Moni realizes who is behind all the murders and starts a deadly hunt.
A muggy summer 20 years ago. A dutiful country doctor, a butcher with dreams and a choir rehearsal that causes resentment. But there is always a solution among neighbors.
A family has to stick together. Otherwise the new pool will never be finished. A father has to protect his daughter and Tanja has to make a decision: Who is the real sheriff here in the valley?
The last, all-important confrontation in the slaughterhouse of Höllgrund. Who can forgive? Who has to pay? What ends up in the sausage tonight? And who cleans up the whole mess at the end?
