Remake of the 1999 TV series of Hunter x Hunter based on the manga by Togashi Yoshihiro. A Hunter is one who travels the world doing all sorts of dangerous tasks. From capturing criminals to searching deep within uncharted lands for any lost treasures. Gon is a young boy whose father disappeared long ago, being a Hunter. He believes if he could also follow his father's path, he could one day reunite with him. After becoming 12, Gon leaves his home and takes on the task of entering the Hunter exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death to become an official Hunter. He befriends the revenge-driven Kurapica, the doctor-to-be Leorio and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua in the exam, with their friendship prevailing throughout the many trials and threats they come upon taking on the dangerous career of a Hunter.
Gon must fulfill a promis to Mito-san to take the hunter exam, the hunter candidates encounter problems during the sea voyage to the hunter test site.
Gon searches for a ship to take him to Dolle Island; Leorio saves Gon from falling prey to a trickster.
Gon, Kurapika and Leorio arrive at the exam site.
In the first phase of the exam the participants have to follow the first examinert hrough a tunnel. Gon befriends Killua on his run to the exit.Â
The participants in the exam emerge from the long tunnel to find themselves in a foggy wetland.
The Gourmet Hunters Menchi and Buhara task the applicants to cook a pork dish for the Second Phase.
Chairman Netero challenges Gon and Killua to a game of skill, which Gon refuses to lose.
The airship arrives at the site of the third phase. To pass this exam, applicants must reach the base of the tower within 72 hours.
Gon faces off against Sedokan and Majtani faces off against Kurapika who reveals a startling and scary secret.

Kurapika learns about Nen from his teacher and then leaves his master Mizuken in order to get a job; He finds himself in an interview for someone who has a lead on the Phantom.
Kurapika and the other applicants fight the assailants in order for them to escape the mansion.
After receiving information from Milluki, Gon and Killua research Greed Island. At the Nostrade Manor, the new employees meet their boss for the first time.
Gon and Killua meet back up with Leorio and continue to try and make some money. The Phantom Troupe moves out.
The Phantom Troupe attacks the underground auction, but their prize eludes them.
Uvogin's actions prompt the mafia to release their secret weapon, the Shadow Beasts.
Kurapika can't capture Uvogin, and he has trouble containing his rage as Uvogin issues demands.
In a random deceased persons apartment, Uvogin drinks beer after beer to get the poison out of his system while Shalnark searches the Hunter's website in an effort to discover where Uvogin was being held prisoner.
Kurapika encounters Uvogin, a member of the Phantom Troupe who eliminated his Kurta clan.
Gon, Killua and Leorio want to buy Greed Island, but first have to raise enough money to make the purchase.
The Phantom Troupe captures Gon and Killua, who are questioned about the chain user that the Troupe seeks.
After being brought to the Phantom Troupe's hideout, Gon and Killua are held captive by Nobunaga.
The auction gets rescheduled; the Mafia think the Phantom Troupe will attack again.
The Troupe mount a massive, powerful attack at the auction, and the Ten Dons' hired assassins struggle to keep up.
Kurapilia is surprised to find out that the leader of the Phantom Troupe has been killed, and wants to get a glimpse of the body.
Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio reunite, and Kurapika informs the others of his nen powers.
Chrollo does some fortune-telling for all the Troupe members, and they begin to suspect Hisoka of betrayal.
Chrollo is able to identify the whereabouts of the chain user by using the info he has on Neon.
The Phantom Troupe discover that Kurapika is responsible for Uvogin's death; Gon and Killua go to the hotels lobby...
Chrollo is captured by Kurapika, who will release him when Gon and Killua are brought to him by Pakunoda.
