In the season premiere, we examine Kjell-Åke Johansson, one of Sweden's worst sadists of all time. Over the course of several months, he tortures a woman on a farm in Aspa outside Örebro so severely that she finally dies. But it's not the first time.

On a summer day in June 2017, Edvin Gyllensvaan tapes an elderly couple to two kitchen chairs and cuts their throats. The previously unpunished father of young children is an enigma to the police.

Mikael Hagelin is only 17 years old when he kills his mother with forty stab wounds. After four years of youth care, he meets the girl of his dreams. It won't be long before Mikael also stabs his partner to death.

The Långshyttan murder became one of Sweden's most noticed cases in 2016, when a group of eleven people together plan and carry out the murder of 61-year-old Madeleine. During an excursion, they strangle Madeleine in the back seat of the car and then she is stabbed to death.

Tova Moberg, 19 years old, is being abused by her boyfriend Billy Fagerström. He controls her completely and subjects her to elaborate abuse. In her diary, she describes the torture and her fear of dying.

Janne Tuomela becomes known as "The smiling serial killer", after he stabs his partner to death in March 2006. He stores the body on the balcony before dismembering her and dumping the body parts in a lake.
