Il Commissario Rex follows the adventures of Rex, a highly intelligent German Shepherd Police Dog who has been transferred from his home base of Vienna to work with the Italian Police in Rome.
Rex is a stone's throw away from the Vatican and the Castel Sant'Angelo as he works with his colleagues at Rome's Police Headquarters. He quickly establishes a rapport with his new colleagues and soon settles into an exciting routine as he assists his new partners in the solving of major crime in and around Rome.
Rex's earlier adventures in Vienna were described in the 1994 TV series 'Kommissar Rex' which ended in 2008.
