A new fixed-rig documentary series following the heart-pounding action and human stories of the frontline paramedics of one of Britain's busiest ambulance services.Inside the Ambulance will use GoPro cameras mounted inside an ambulance and on the teams to give a unique perspective of the nation's first response emergency workers.From the friendships the ambulance staff forge to the ways they cope with life and death situations they deal with on a daily basis, as well as the lighter moments of working with the great British public, Inside the Ambulance promises to be life-affirming and engaging television.Inside the Ambulance is the network's first fixed-rig documentary series, as newly launched entertainment channel W expands its investment in factual programming. Produced by Brown Bob Productions,the showhas unrivalled access to the West Midlands Ambulance Service. The series gives an intimate perspective on what it's like to respond to emergency calls, with paramedics wearing GoPro cameras to get viewers to the heart of the action combined with multiple cameras throughout the ambulance. As well as getting up close and personal with patients, ranging from life-threatening traumas to everyday emergencies, the series will focus on the hard-working paramedics.
The Paramedics collect a seriously injured man airlifted in from Wales, deal with a distressed pensioner who's taken a tumble, solve the mystery of one patient's back pain, and pick up a toddler struggling to breathe.
The Stoke crews cope with a major heart attack and a nasty football injury. While in Dudley, the Paramedics help a diabetic with severe tummy pains, and meet octogenarian sweethearts coping with one partner's dementia.
The crews treat a drug user with a burst abscess, an elderly woman whose face has swollen, and a young woman with a possible miscarriage – plus, race against time to get a patient with a suspected stroke to hospital.
Paramedics attend an accident at the bus station, treat a feisty pensioner with Angina, a young mum with a suspected stroke, and a child hit by a cricket bat - plus visit a regular on palliative care struggling to breathe.
In Dudley, the Paramedics attend a road traffic accident, while in Stoke, the crews work out how to move a woman with a horrendous fracture and answer a call from an old woman whose carer has fainted while fasting for Ramadan.
The crews are called to an unconscious child in a park, a seriously unwell man with blood in his colostomy bag, and a deaf woman with chest pains – plus have to get a diabetic, red flag sepsis patient to hospital.
Join the Paramedics as they reassure a frightened elderly patient with a dislocated hip, treat a baby with a dangerously high temperature, attend a woman with a very fast heart rate, and help an alcoholic after a 4-day bender.
The blue lights are flashing as the crews attend a woman with ridiculously high blood pressure, a 20-year-old with chest pains, and a woman who has smashed her face in a fall. Plus, a call-out to a choking baby proves frustrating.
The Paramedics attend a woman whose legs have dramatically swollen, a girl having panic attacks, and a very ill unconscious man. Plus, they have to work out how to get a patient with a dislocated shoulder up off the factory floor.
The crews attend an HGV driver suffering dizzy spells and a woman who's fallen into a thorn bush, plus attempt to move a man with a spinal injury, who has no sensation from the neck down after a nasty fall.
