iZombie is an American television series developed by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright for The CW, and is a loose adaptation of the comic book series of the same name created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred, and published by DC Comics under their Vertigo imprint. The series was officially picked up on May 8, 2014, for the 2014–15 season and premiered on March 17, 2015. The first season will consist of 13 episodes.
Liv Moore was a medical resident and an overall happy person. She had a happy loving family, a funny and cute fiance and she loved spending time with her friends. But her whole life went downhill at a party, at which she was turned into a zombie. Now she only hungers for brains. She quit her job at which she had a promising career, and started to work at the Seattle PD morgue, not only to satisfy her urge for brains, but to help the Police Department at solving crimes as a "psychic" consultant. With the help of her boss Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, who is more fascinated by her condition than scared of it, and Detective Clive Babinaux, who believes that Liv is a psychic, she must help the people of Seattle, understand her condition, find out how she was turned into a zombie, and fight a menace on the rise. A zombie murder of a human woman raises tensions between the two sides in Seattle. Clive and Liv investigate the murder, while Ravi works with the CDC to find a cure and Blaine worries that he'll lose access to brains to feed the starving zombie population.
In the aftermath of the convenience store murder, human-zombie tensions continue to rise, and Major and Peyton both have to make tough decisions. Clive and Liv try to identify the victim, and Ravi gets advice on his sex life from a guru-brained Liv.
To find out who killed two dancers, Liv eats one of their brains and goes undercover with Ravi to find out who the murderer is. Fillmore-Graves is accused of drawing guns on elementary school students after they discover that the staff are conducting "lice checks" and segregating zombie children.
When a tech guru died, the trail leads to several suspects and Liv eats the guru's brain to find out who murdered him. Peyton and Ravi try to get Hi, Zombie off the ground, and a reporter interviews Blaine.
Clive injures himself during a case, leaving Liv and Ravi to find out who murdered a wealthy high school student. Al finishes her story on Blaine after getting some comments from Peyton, Major deals with dissension in the ranks, and the information about Freylich being a zombie cure gets out.
When Al's story goes viral, Blaine's reputation is ruined, forcing him to take drastic measures. Don E partners with Stacey to supply brains to Fillmore-Graves, forcing Major to come up with an alternate supplier. Liv and Clive investigate the death of a matchmaker.
Liv isn't happy with the perfectionist brain that she eats to solve the murder of a gourmet chef. Clive pays Michelle a visit at the hospital, Major tries to find the traitor within Fillmore-Graves, and Ravi helps Charlie bond with her twin sister.
A car salesman is murdered, and Ravi and Liv both eat his brain and become uber-competitive. Blaine puts the finishing touches on his Freylich-smuggling operation, Don E meets his soul mate, and Liv meets her father.
Liv tries to look out for Martin and deal with Evan's medical problems, while working on a case with Clive about a beauty-queen contestant who was given spiked makeup, went into anaphylactic shock 20 years ago, and recently died. Major searches for the missing Sloane, and Ravi and Peyton track down Beanpole Bob.
Liv eats the brain of a murdered PI and goes noir on Clive, Ravi, and Blaine. Peyton goes to karaoke night at Don E B Goodz, and the Chairwoman casts the deciding vote on whether to bomb Seattle.
While Liv and Clive investigate the death of a drag queen strangled with a pearl necklace, Ravi asks Major to pose as "gigolo bait" to help track down some missing Freylich's kids.
Liv, Ravi, and Clive set out to recover the Utopium formula from the CDC. Major deals with a zombie uprising, and Blaine and Don E get a lead on the missing Freylich kids.
Liv, Ravi, and Clive head back to Seattle with the cure. Blaine and Don E get in deep, and Major leaves a message for Liv as the human-zombie conflict comes to a head.
