With many efforts, the Kyushu Shinkansen was back in full operation in 2 weeks but the third sector, Minamiaso Railway, was able to resume partial service only. Unfortunately, a complete restoration will cost billions of yen and funds are yet to be secured. East Japan Railway Company also known as JR East operates 4 preserved steam locomotives and is a popular attraction for tourists.
