ITV's hugely popular culinary couple John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are set to embark on a journey of a lifetime that will see the pair travel 500 miles along the beautiful coast of Western Australia, in search of the very best local food and wine for John & Lisa's Food Trip Down Under.Proud Australian chef John Torode will travel with his wife, actress and home cook, Lisa Faulkner along a gourmet route of discovery as he returns to the place where his passion for food and cooking began. There they'll seek out chefs, food fanatics and entrepreneurs creating incredible produce in new ways, from black truffles to abalone. They'll meet established winemakers and experience some of Western Australia's most beautiful landscapes.
After flying over 9000 miles to Perth, John and Lisa sample fantastically fresh snapper, meet a cute marsupial and Lisa tries her hand at crafting traditional Chinese dumplings.
John and Lisa start their trip down South with homecooked breakfasts at an Aussie family run café and discover tasty short rib wraps at a restaurant ringing the culinary changes.
John Torode and Lisa Faulkner explore the Bush and have a picnic of artisan cheese, encounter the ultimate Aussie animal, and are introduced to a unique truffle sauce that perfectly complements crayfish.
John and Lisa devour delicious potato dosa at the local market, are stunned by huge stingrays on beautiful Hamelin Bay and spell bound by a tasty native oyster with a Japanese twist.
