Mythical mysteries and local legends have existed across the British Isles for centuries. Whilst many have been lost and forgotten, Jonathan Ross is now leading an adventure to uncover these fantastic fables.Over four episodes, Jonathan discovers Myths and Legends in different parts of the country as he journeys through stunning countryside and scenery, from epic landmarks to mighty castles and historic pubs, meeting local folk and immersing himself in the stories in a bid to understand how these legends once lived and breathed.
Jonathan travels around the UK on the hunt for incredible tales. He starts his journey in Whitby, where he discovers what inspired the creation of Dracula. He also journeys up the coast to learn about the Hobs - mythical cave-dwelling creatures with healing powers - before heading inland to Knaresborough to visit Mother Shipton's Cave.
Jonathan is joined by Michael Sheen to explore the legends of Wales, from the creation of Mount Snowdon to the Lady of the Lake, and attends the Green Man Festival.
Jonathan explores the legends of the Isle of Skye and the Scottish Highlands. On Skye, he learns about musical fairyfolk, and the warrior queen Scáthach. On the mainland, Jonathan learns about Kelpies, and hunts for the infamous Nessie.
Jonathan explores the legends of South West England, from King Arthur and Morgan Le Fay, to piskies, spriggans, knockers and the Beast of Bodmin.
