ITV Daytime's resident judge, Robert Rinder, is lifting the lid on some of Britain's worst crimes in a brand new documentary series, Judge Rinder's Crime Stories.Used to ruling the courtroom in his own hit TV series, respected criminal defence barrister, Judge Rinder, is stepping out from behind the bench to take a closer look into a variety of major crimes.
The barrister examines more real-life cases, beginning with the death of Nova Welsh, who was found dead in a cupboard at her home in Birmingham in 1981, but no one was convicted. Thirty-five years later police decided to look again at the old evidence and hoped DNA from a piece of chewing gum left at the scene would help them finally catch up with the killer.
The barrister tells the story of six-year-old Stanley Metcalfe, who was shot in the stomach by an air rifle held by his great-grandfather. Plus, how police tackled a moped gang.
